  • Best tip for V is to get a pass for the V garden. Previously it was for anyone with a Virgin SIM, but last year they held a competition for them as it was getting too popular (once the festival's best kept secret). Inside are really really nice loos with a permanent attendent cleaning them all day, real sinks, real soap, hot water. We go in just to use the loos (like lots of people) and I've never seen a queue of more than about 20 people for the entire row, so it's only 5 minutes or so.
Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j

OU student: A103 , A215 , A316 all done. Currently A230 all leading to an English Literature degree.

Any advice given is as an individual, not as a representative of my firm.
  • Yep, I got a ticket for the Hidden Garden and it was wonderful! Clean toilets, cash bar, we made special trips over there throughout the day.

If you think V was bad try Benicassim festival in Spain, a half hour walk in the baking sun to the camping area and actual giant cockroaches living in the toilets... grim!

I went to a festival in the US where none of these things were a problem, but there was no camping which makes a real difference as the clean up crew come around every evening when people have gone home, the toilets are replaced every night (and there are proper toilets in the grandstand as well) and the food is provided by local chefs (some people just go to the festival for the food). Plus, better music than any UK festivals. Not very MSE to fly to New Orleans for it, but a civilised festival can be done...

But isn't that the difference between us Brits and the USA/Continental Europe? Give everyone identical toilets and the Brit toilets will be trashed.
