Well , I followed the first link kindly given by marleyboy. Not that I went to Reading, but my daughter was a C.A.T.S volunteer at Leeds. And a lot of people are agreeing with the OP.
Seems Reading should take some advice from Leeds, although the weather played a big part this year.0 -

Seems theres a certain amount of snobbery from the regular festival goers who are proud that are willing to put with whatever goes.[/QUOTE]
No what people are saying is get a little perspective. If you want an experience that is perfect with clean toilets and all the luxuries a 5 star hotel can give. Don't go to a Festival. It's as simple as that. It's not exactly a secret that you will be roughing it and the facilities will not be perfect.
If you want the sort of facilities and services you want you have to realise the price would increase by a huge amount and that's just not going to Happen as the majority of festival goers are happy with the balance between Price and facilities. If the prices increased the amount needed to make your perfect experience no sensible person would pay those prices.
I live in the real world and realise that these events can't be perfect and that if 100,000 people camp in a field the Toilets aren't going to be the best in the world.
As I said earlier if you want it perfect stay at home and watch it on TV.
It's obvious that you aren't the type that will enjoy festivals or any sort of camping as you need your lemon soaked paper napkins. I suggest next year you avoid these events and save us all from your moaning.0 -
Marleyboy,
I do give up with you. I think you will find my original post was asking for information only for the thred to be hijacked by people generally making childish comments about how I shouldnt be complaining.
But, like I said before, some people do seem to get a kick out of throwing their weight around on forums. So whatever floats your boat mate.
After all, you are the greatest.... :T:T:T0 -

Aaarrrrgggghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!
I get the feeling that this thread is being used as some form of therapy for some of you. Blow off a bit of steam or something by throwing some abuse at a stranger.0 -
You might be able to make a complaint on the V Fest forums.
I sympathise with you, I work for a company that goes round festivals and collects feedback/comments/complaints from the festival goers and liases with festival organisers to make their customers comments known, sadly we don't deal with V Fest or I could of been more help. You do have a right to complain, because you are paying to make use of the facilities whilst there as well as see the bands, and our company (The Better Festival Group) has gone some way in helping to improve facilities at festivals such as Leeds/Reading, Sonisphere and Download.
Thanks.
I didnt know such a company existed. Thats good to know.
Pity V fest arent included though...
Careful on this thread though. I think its considered uncool to complain about festivals. :rotfl:0 -
BTW. I think this thread has gone far enough now.
I'll be taking it off my watch list. To be honest, whereas it was mildly entertaining to watch some of you throw insults my way for fun, I really dont have the time for this anymore.
So toodle pip all of you. Hope you find someone else to abuse on the forum soon.0 -
I don't think we were abusing you, just that loos and queues are a fact of life about festivals so we don't see the point of complaining. There's also an element of knowing your way around. If it was your first V, then yes, I bet you did get stuck in loo queues for 45 minutes. After a couple of times you learn which loos are tucked out of the way and usually have zero queues and are in decent condition, just 5 minutes extra walk time but well worth it! (i.e. the ones at the BOTTOM of the hill between the two main stages, I'm sure most people don't even realise there is a path there, let alone a massive row of loos that are NEVER that busy.) Campsite loos get awful very very quickly. I'm going to confess we bring a spare cheapo tent and a bucket for our group to use for midnight wee wees. However, the campsite loos are great during the day if you can be bothered to go back - they are cleaned in morning then most people disappear over to the arena, so they don't get used much again until the late afternoon, and are normally quite good. It's just a case of learning the ropes really.
Anyway, enjoy your next festival.
There are plenty of other things I'd complain about for V, but not those particular aspects, that's all. How about only being able to buy vile Virgin cola? I know they are the sponsors, but it sucks. And I wish Bacardi would buy a bigger tent.Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j

Any advice given is as an individual, not as a representative of my firm.0 -
Well there is actually something organisers can do to improve the quality of toilets, at Leeds and Reading there is what is known as "long drops" which are essentially a hole in the ground, for years they have been totally disgusting but thanks to feedback given to Festival Republic they decided to refurbish the stalls and separate all toilets, including portaloos into male and female... I saw a massive improvement in the state of them this year because of it and I'm proud of my company for facilitating that!
Obviously you're never going to get porcelain, flushable toilets you could eat your dinner off... but there is basic stuff that can be done to help the situation such as regularly re-filling toilet roll and hand sanitizer, and having a cleaning squad go round every few hours like I've seen at festivals such as Glastonbury and Bestival.trying to become a moneysaving student0 -
I see paulfoel's got ripped to bits again and gone off with his tail between his legs.0
