Complaints about V Festival

this isnt a British thing, festivals in other countries are no different.
I go to a lot of festivals and I did have some issues with Download Festival a few years back (only one proper set of toilets in the arena, a few other problems). All I did was sign up to their forums, post int he feedback section (along with everyone else) and the following year (due to the number of people giving similar feedback) it was a lot better.
As a side note, I don't know if its still on, but I'd recommend Move festival in Manchester as it is known as 'a festival for people who dont like festivals'. The toilets are cleaner, everything more 'sanitary' etc etc.0 -
Sorry but I think you are just a big whinger too and not one with a grasp of business realities. A little more effort? You must be joking.
Loos. OK, they aren't great but V does have one of the highest loos per festival goer proportions. To add more loos = substantial more cost. The loos are cleaned twice a day. To add anothercleaning = substantial more cost. Substantial more costs = higher ticket prices for everyone. the loos at V aren't THAT bad. the ones near the main stages get foul but others in less popular areas are ok, you just need to walk a bit further.
Queues - with so many people all trying to come in at the same time, you could open up the whole place and you'd still have a queue. I think the entry points are well managed, kept safe (which is important to me) and if you don't want to queue, don't turn up at peak time, come a bit earlier and be at the front of the queue or leave it till later. A 3.5 hour queue could only have been for the campsite. What else could they do about it realistically? We get up bloody early so we are near the front, this year we left home at 4.30am, and we take drinks and snacks for the queue time, people chat, drink, play frisbee, you name it to pass the time. If you don't want to queue, then come later in the day but you won't get a prime camp spot, you take your choice there.Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j

Agreed, V Festival sucks. I went, and I couldn't see any sign of Robert Englund.0

Paulfoel, musicmaker29 has touched on the best answer to your question I think you're likely to get, and the point I was about to make too. If you want to complain or make a point about any aspect of a festival not being up to scratch, probably the best course of action is to post what you wish to say on that festival's forums on it's official website. Most festival organisers at least read the forums, with many actively participating in them too, and if other people agree with your complaint it's more likely the ensuing discussion will be noted by the organisers. Of course if the rest of the (mostly seasoned) festival attendees on there think you're being a bit daft then you'll be told so in no uncertain terms.0

My gripe is paying a price for something (a service even) which could be a LOT better with a little more effort from the organisers (and a little more money spent). I dont see whats wrong with that.
I gripe at paying a price for the cinema, to watch a movie that "could be a lot better", or had bigger named stars, even spent a little more of the budget on special effects. It would be futile me complaining to Odeon Cinema's or Paramount about it.
I gripe at paying for a holiday, when the Air fare is so extortionate, there would be no point me mentioning it to the Hotel Manager.
I gripe at the overcrowding of Trains when the 1st class carriage has vacant seats. The list is endless. However it is one thing to gripe about it, another to complain about it.
Some things you half expect, if I go to a festival, I expect rain, muddy fields, carp singers, queues for a filthy toilet, drug takers, obnoxious and rude festival goers, and whiners. They could be better of course, 4 star accommodation, tropical sunshine, dress code, crystal chandeliers and luxury gold plated lavatories.
I am sure everyone would wish for a better service like that, but its just not going to happen, there is a stark difference between an outdoor festival and Wembley Arena, which I have no doubt, contain gleaming toilets spaciously arranged in a lovely marble or tiled room.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
