Complaints about V Festival

If it helps put it into a bit of perspective I once went to a festival that had promised bands missing or performing at a different time to the time advertised, so loads of people who wanted to see that certain band/DJ didn't. It ended a day early too. We never did find out why. There were rumours of a burst sewage pipe but I think that was far more dramatic than the real reason. The stewards didn't have a clue as no one was telling them anything. It was my first festival and as we all moped off home earlier than intended I even had a steward apologise to me, saying how distraught she'd be if this carp-fest has been her first festival.
As it happened I'd seen the one band I was desperate to see and spent the rest of the time having fun with my friends regardless, so I did enjoy it. A lot of people did complain that we deserved a refund of the missing day but we never got that either. The organisers hadn't sold as many tickets as they had hoped, to the point bands were having to choose between playing for free or leaving- which is why there were so many cancellations- so they obviously didn't have the money to give us.
I think your best bet is to offer constructive criticism rather than a complaint, in the hope they shape up next year. Alternatively go to one of the smaller festivals next year- they're cheaper, cleaner, friendlier and all round better imo.0 -

I live in Reading - should I complain to Carling about the amount of filthy welly clad children trying to buy booze on my lunch break?
You'd be better off complaining to Carlsberg, Carling haven't sponsored Reading Festival for years0 -

Everything could be better paulfoel. Everything. But depends if you are a half empty / half full kinda person.
Why dont you whinge about everything that could be better. Erm, you do. Hehehehe lol.......
What about the massive y fronts that you wear. They could be super absorbent for your little problem that you mentioned on a previous thread. :dance:0 -
You took the words right out of my mouth.
Either the OP is a) very unlucky or b) a troll as everything he seems to do turns out crappy.

Overpayment to date : £310
2nd Purse Challenge:
£15.88 saved to date0 -

No. Not a troll. Just not one to put up with poor service like most people in Britain do.
Buy hey, if you're happy not to complain then go for it.0 -
I think the reason why people don't have any sympathy for you is that your complaint is ridiculous and massively over the top. Everyone accepts that festival toilets are bad but you are right in the fact that people shouldn't just put up with things and you have a right to complain if you feel the service is poor. However the ridiculous way you were going to complain makes your complaint laughable! Sending an email to Richard Branson about the state of the toilets at V festival is one of the most stupid things I have ever heard! What do you honestly expect him to do? Its not even his fricken festival!
Still the posts are quite funny so this hasn't been a complete waste of time! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
;36200939]I really do give up....
YES, I KNEW THE TOILETS WOULDNT BE GREAT.
I KNEW THE FACILITIES WERE NOT GREAT
I KNEW THERE WERE QUEUES
I KNEW IT WAS EXPENSIVE
Its just that some of these things COULD BE BETTER with some more effort on the part of the organisers.....
Do you understand now?
If they massively improved the areas you mention. The ticket prices would go up significantly. So your next thread would be . LEEDS TICKET - RIP OFF!!!!!
It's a festival compared to a few years ago they are luxury. I've been to Glastonbury's 20 odd years ago that the toilets were a hole in the ground. I have been to Reading when it rained so much the Police horses sunk in the mud. I went to one in Calais once that it rained so much that half the acts didn't play. You need some perspective.
If you want good facilities and no problems stay at home watch it on TV use your own toilet and order takeaway.0 -

Hmm. Ticket prices are different thing. I know the price up front so if I dont want to pay I dont pay - simple as that.
My gripe is paying a price for something (a service even) which could be a LOT better with a little more effort from the organisers (and a little more money spent). I dont see whats wrong with that.
And before anyone has a go AGAIN, read that statement and let it sink in. I'm not asking for luxury, just for a bit more effort to be made with the things that are there. Not quite sure some people come steaming into this thread and assume I'm complaining because I dont like the toilets or the mud.
These things are all part and parcel of going. However, toilets a bit cleaner, queues a bit shorter etc could be influenced by the organisers making a bit more effort.
Then again, like someone said, they probably dont care because it sells out. And also, I reckon, they know that, for some reason, the british wont complain anyway - they'd rather just put up with it.0
