Complaints about V Festival

Nothing at all wrong with it, except this rule applies to everything.
I gripe at paying a price for the cinema, to watch a movie that "could be a lot better", or had bigger named stars, even spent a little more of the budget on special effects. It would be futile me complaining to Odeon Cinema's or Paramount about it.
I gripe at paying for a holiday, when the Air fare is so extortionate, there would be no point me mentioning it to the Hotel Manager.
I gripe at the overcrowding of Trains when the 1st class carriage has vacant seats. The list is endless. However it is one thing to gripe about it, another to complain about it.
Some things you half expect, if I go to a festival, I expect rain, muddy fields, carp singers, queues for a filthy toilet, drug takers, obnoxious and rude festival goers, and whiners. They could be better of course, 4 star accommodation, tropical sunshine, dress code, crystal chandeliers and luxury gold plated lavatories.
I am sure everyone would wish for a better service like that, but its just not going to happen, there is a stark difference between an outdoor festival and Wembley Arena, which I have no doubt, contain gleaming toilets spaciously arranged in a lovely marble or tiled room.
Might I also add there werent enough toilets. Not being funny but 45 mins queue is a bit much.
Now is that acceptable? Or pennypinching on behalf of the organisers?
In fact, I'm sure there were more burger vans in the arena than toilets !!!!0 -
Burger vans pay to be there, they have to pay for toilets to be there.0

In fact, I'm sure there were more burger vans in the arena than toilets !!!![/QUOTE]Considering the amount of people expected at a festival, 45 minutes wait is pretty predictable. Its certainly what I would expect at any festival.
There possibly were more burger vans at the camp, something else I would expect at a festival, over inflated prices for a hotdog in one of the MANY burger vans, each of which I also expect paid an extortionate fee for a plot. I guess there were more visitors than toilets and burger vans combined, each who have paid a fee, waited in a toilet queue AND queued for burgers or hotdogs.
Above all, out of the thousands and thousands of revellers who attended, your the only one I know of, who wants to escalate such predictable woes, with a letter to Mr Branson.
You are probably better off avoiding going to the next festival, because I can guarantee, it will be pretty much the same next Season, just as it was the previous seasons.
Incidentally the group of friends I know of who went, said they had a wonderful time there, regardless of the queues, the toilet facilities, the burger vans and they will definitely be going again. (which I also predicted).
Maybe you are the only one who expected the place should be carpeted, with a toilet cubicle per person and a wide choice of restaurants.
My advice is to stay at home with your feet up next time, and watch everyone else enjoying themselves on the box, in order to avoid the inevitable yet predictable downside to any festival.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

I have to say, of all the festivals I've been to Bestival has the nicest toilets, the composting ones were always clean and barely smelled. Sonisphere is probably second, the staff did a good job keeping those clean (especially in the staff camping areas). However, they're both smaller festivals, obviously the more people there the harder it gets to provide nicer toilets.0

Why is that just because I said I might complain it is ASSUMED I've got unrealistic expectations.
I dont think I mentioned that I expected any of these things in my replies, did I? You appear to be imagining it.0 -

I dont doubt that running a festival with that amount of people is a logistical nightmare. However, doesnt mean they should be immune to criticism/feedback though.
Although some people here think its uncool to complain and we should all be British and put up with whatever they deem to provide because we're tough enough to go to a festival.
Seems theres a certain amount of snobbery from the regular festival goers who are proud that are willing to put with whatever goes.0 -

If I were a festival promoter/organiser and I want say a minimum of 25% net profit, then I would only provide the facilities/resources to meet that return, especially given that there are plenty of [STRIKE]mugs[/STRIKE] customers willing to fork out for the festival.
If you expect me to provide more facilities/resources then either I raise the ticket prices or be willing to work for less profit. If the level of profit drops then I may decide that in future it's not worth my while hosting the event, cancel it and concentrate on other activities that do provide the return. The man without a signature.0 -
You might be able to make a complaint on the V Fest forums.
I sympathise with you, I work for a company that goes round festivals and collects feedback/comments/complaints from the festival goers and liases with festival organisers to make their customers comments known, sadly we don't deal with V Fest or I could of been more help. You do have a right to complain, because you are paying to make use of the facilities whilst there as well as see the bands, and our company (The Better Festival Group) has gone some way in helping to improve facilities at festivals such as Leeds/Reading, Sonisphere and Download.trying to become a moneysaving student0 -

Obviously there ARE, however it seems ONE festival goer is too snobby to go to a festival, I dont see anyone else in here complaining (out of the thousands who attended), maybe because they actually enjoyed the festival and were far too COOL to moan about it.
However this particular ONE, cannot give up the rant, and endlessly complains about it over and over again, without having the knowledge to go to the festival sites forums to do their moaning, with some strange assumption that by somehow mentioning it on an MSE forum, is in someway, ensuring the festival organisers are receiving such criticism and\or feedback.
Had the many thousands of people complained about it, I would imagine there was a big problem, however one little fish in a very big pond, does not even make a ripple.
As my group of friends enjoyed the festival, I will assume they and the majority of those attending enjoyed it too (although predictably NOT everyone), as for the small few who were disappointed with it. - Well you cannot please everybody all of the time, or as my Mother used to say "No matter what you do to please them, you will always find one who wants more".
However I think we ALL get the message, You was not happy with it, and you want to complain........
http://www.the-vfestival.co.uk/v-festival-review-2010/ Maybe post your opinions in here (where knowledgeable V-festival goers post their opinions).
