(((HUGS))) to Mummyyof5 re eBay buyer – some folks'd leave rotten feedback whatever you did; I've never ventured near eBay myself because I can't handle that sort of hassle and also to Mumto5 re DH and the worries re transport costs.
    Hippo Bathday to Mr Sunnygirl.:bdaycake:
FFP nice to see you back; hope you've managed to kick BD into touch.:o

Valli ooh, fun and games with a RL Black Dog, eh?:D Sounds like a Scottish Terrier to me. Would this be the sort? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scottish_Terrier
I'm glad you were able to get hold of his owner!

    Juliejim ouchy-ouch! Your poor arm!:(

Hex we had delicious carrot'n'coriander soup at the birthday bash we went to last Saturday. I've asked for(and received!) the recipe, but I'll have to wait til things are a tad less chaotic here before I make it.:o

Talking of the chaos here; Mr LW has suggested that I put flying on hold next week, or at least just do Level 1, as these two Westies are running me completely ragged. I suspect they're 'orribly spoilt at home; they constantly want to be let out, have “accidents” if the demand isn't met straight away, and totally trashed my kitchen last night. Don't get me wrong, they're very sweet, but they're twice as much work as all the other dogs we've looked after put together! I'm sure anyone with “normal” energy levels would take it in their stride, but I'm finding it mega-tiring, so doing a little less on they flying front seems the way to go, then get back up to speed when they've gone home.:o

They even have different food, so we have to be careful to give them the correct dish. Their dishes are identical, but luckily there are two different coloured scoops to get the food out of the tins, so I leave the scoops in the dishes til we go to feed them – Mr LW gives Cameron his insulin and his food, and I see to Candy.

I'd like to get a bit of kip, but the moment I do, they'll want letting out; so Mr LW brewed a BIG pot of coffee for me this morning, and I'm surviving on that!
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

well i haven't been around the past few months as oh has been back from sea and he's kept the house fairly clean and tidy. although his opinion of clean and mine are completely different so now hes gone back to sea for 4/5 months im back on the flylady radar

Welcome back! Can't be easy on your relationship.

LW - sounds like hard work! Is there any way to give the owners some feedback/constructive criticism?

I've had an extended lunch while trying to sort out my trip to Manchester tomorrow, but fell asleep because the laptop is so slow at the moment. DH is back, but went to bed for a bit, I think. Still hardly talking. :(

I don't get to actually meet the owners, the dogs are delivered and collected by the lady who has the franchise for this area (which is good for me, as I'm so nervous of people).

I do, however, get to do a "postcard", half from us, and half from the dogs themselves, so I'll be wording that very diplomatically.;)

They're both sleeping at the mo, and soooo cute. A bit like naughty kids, I guess.:o

  • seafarers wife nice to see you - that explains where you disappeared to! Hope you soon get it back ship-shape - to your standards that is!
LameWolf on their part of the postcard be sure to say they had fun trashing the kitchen:rotfl: I agree that you should cut back on the flying until the dogs have gone - that is your main priority when you have 'guests' so dont be overdoing it in the futurs either - i think your house will be spotless so to only do level 1 now and then wont be a problem and you will soon catch up after.

....phew... survived the first three days back!

We haven't had much organised INSET, and have had plenty of time to really declutter our rooms, and work on Schemes of Work etc - we're introducing new courses for half of the groups we teach, so quite a lot to do. On top of that, all the school's computers and laptops have been upgraded to Windows 7, and they've introduced new software for our planners.

I've had a lot of wasted time though, as my laptop had been disembowelled, and they had to find me a new one, and then do all the updates etc, so I didn't get it until just before lunch. I worked like mad trying to catch up this afternoon!

Nightmare journey home - the fast road I usually take was closed after a chemical spill, and instead of 35 minutes, it took me an hour and 40 minutes to get home.

The evening didn't get any better - DS2 had rugby practice, and half way through I got a phone call to say he'd dislocated his arm again  but fortunately not badly and he'd put it back himself, but could I go and collect him. I spent the rest of the evening sorting out bags of frozen peas to keep any inflammation down,. and offering painkillers. I woke him up early this morning to see if I needed to stay home, but he thought he'd be okay.

I have been leaving flying lists for anyone who is at home, and they've been very good at trying to get it done:D I must clean the bathroom tonight though!

    Love and hugs.
