Me too, and which little monster settled down complete with oil marks? These are blending nicely with the ink stains inflicted by my DH on my nice cream gazillion count bedding.

Finally have the house to myself for a few hours so am working from the backdoor in if anyone cares to join me for HHC at 12.45?

and can we all please stop mentioning cake? I am making vast quantities of carrot soup, and it would be so much nicer as cake .

Think I'll do the stairs (incl tiny top and bottom landing) next before finishing dishes. Once they're put away I can clean the sink and then move on to another room. :D

I like it when a plan comes together. All above done and ready to do another HHC or two before lunch. DW on, too, as DS1's stuff has appeared with comment 'I think I've grown my pot noodle for too long'.

Mrs C. what's that place in your avvy? Am sure have asked before but am *cof* peri-menopausal or dim :rotfl:

Neither! I probably just missed your post. It's some historical (re-built) buildings around the market square in my home town of Hildesheim in Germany. A nice place to sit in a pavement cafe and watch the world go by. :D (And they don't charge extra for sitting outside, either ;))

Sorry, hex, but I've got cake on the brain at the moment. Will need a few more to get it out of my system. I do love carrot soup, though.

Pigpen, do you think your OH would share his recipe for lemon drizzle cake?

Starting my next HHC with getting DS2 into some clothes so he can take some potato salad across the road to DH's friend. DH seems to have given up on eating - at least at home.
  • Chocolate cake made and cooling, chocolate butter icing made in advance. Nabbed a bit of the mixture to make 6 fairy cakes too so we could have one after lunch. I've not had my lunch yet but felt the need to partake in a bit of fairy cake munching so mine's gone already.

Need to nip to the shop for a few bits then I'll do a bit of flying. DD1's friend being picked up at 4.30pm so I might make DD2 have a snooze so they can have a bit of free time away from her mithering them! Also, she'll be a bit more bearable if we manage to pop out for an early drink for DH's birthday.

    Well, in my HHC I
    Hoovered sofas
Told DS1 off 11ty billion times for jumping on hoovered sofas with his shoes on
Hoovered LR floor (even under the rug)
Hoovered hotel spiderella that was forming in the corner

DS1 and I are going to dust quickly then popping out to pick up DS2's prescription and then mopping LR floor when we get back. Hopefully I'll be able to get upstairs this afternoon too then can spend the weekend sorting out the garage and garden - joy of joys
