My dad, admittedly in a very different line of work, pretended to go to work for two weeks after he was suspended (for being a prat, to put it simply). He would put on his suit, drive me to school, go to work and appear to be reading papers, making notes etc in the evening. Everything looked normal.
It was only when I read one of his letters, because I was a nosy teenager that I found out about the suspension and told him I knew that he stopped pretending. OK, it was a much shorter time but until I saw the letter I had no idea (even with hindsight I can't say I suspected).
That said, if the OP is telling the truth, then I'm not convinced her ex is. Why would he have bothered keeping up the pretence?
ahh bless him, he was probably just too ashamed and thats why he hid it
i can understand why someone would do that , but your dad did it for 2 weeks before someone twigged
i am astounded that someone could keep up that much pretence for 11 years though!!£608.98

From CAB adviceGuide:
Rights to the home in rented property
What rights you have to stay in the home will depend on whether only one of you is the tenant or you share the tenancy. As a sole tenant you can ask the other partner to leave unless a court grants rights for your partner to stay.
If you have children a court can grant rights for a parent who is not the tenant to stay, initially for 6 months.
When you share the tenancy, you have equal rights to stay in the home. If one partner has been violent a court can exclude the violent partner even if s/he is the sole tenant.
Hope that helps a bit.
Even if you are just granted a 6 month stay that will give you breathing space to find a new place. Will be interesting to see what your Housing Association have to say. Give your council's Housing Options team a ring as well and ask for an interview to find out all the options available to you. If you are in an area that has a choice-based system you will be able to bid on available properties and as soon as you have 28 days notice to vacate the property you will be put in one of the higher bands due to being classed as homeless with a child, which should mean you get housed quicker. You can bid before then but you will be in a lower band until you have 28 days notice of eviction.2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0 -
Are you married by the way? Your rights are strengthened if you are.
If not then you would have to go for an occupation order from the court. As you have a child they would probably look more favourably on you. But you really do need some good legal advice on this.2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0
