I'd tell the crisis loan line that they are breaching the childrens human rights, they can certainly give you a crisis loan, and I'm amazed they haven't, regardless of previous debt. Was the previous debt given when your husband was the main claimant for the family? If so, it's his debt, not yours.

You should also call your MP, with starving children and a pregnant abandoned mother, you're exactly the sort of success story they need to assure constituents that they're going to work for them, so they'll get onto the DWP on your b ehalf very quickly.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

If you can give us a bit more info that may help:

How many children & what ages?
What DO you have food-wise in the house? Surely you haven't eaten everything in the food parcel from yesterday?
How much money DO you have (even 37p can be a help)?
What do you have in the house that could be pawned/sold - obviously some form of computer as you are posting here ... a tv? playstation?

What is your last-resort plan if noone can help? Seriously?

hi everyone, i posted here last week as my partner had left me and our children and i had to claim income support and make a new child tax credit claim as the last was in his name. we have no money coming in, i cant feed my children as the job centre wont pay a crisis loan because we had dept with them.
i have sold everything thats sellable this week to feed my kids and i am now back to square one again i cant go on no more.
i have been to citizens advice and they have contacted charitys in my area for help as the children was starving and they was not able to help and they tryed to get me a crisis loan and i was refused and they said they would pass it on to community care grant as i wasnt aloud a crisis loan.
i ended up breaking down in there, i have also just found out i'm pregnant which doesnt help as how i am i supposed to buy things for baby when i cant even feed the children i have already.
they rang social service in the end and explained to them what had happened and they aloud us to a small food parcel to last tonight and warned they couldnt do it again.
we have no gas, nappys, baby milk and now no food again the electrics on £1.24 so thats not going to last very long.
i really dont know what to do tomorrow, i was told that i would be contacted within 24 hours about the community care grant. can anyone tell me would i be entitled to it?? or are they unlikely to award me anything?? i really dont know where to turn ive really had enough now and i cant go on like this. does anyone have any advice??
    thank you

I'm sorry to hear of your woes, but have you considered putting your children into care *temporarily* while you get yourself sorted out financially?

Perhaps you could find employment to up your living standards and improve your finances considerably?

It does sound bad timing to get pregnant, perhaps there are options you might consider to make things bearable for your family unit.

Hope you get things sorted out hun

The OP sounds desperate, not sure suggesting employment and "options" for her pregnancy are appropriate either with regards to sensitivity or timing!

thats what i told crisis loan they asked what would happen if i was not award anything i told them i wouldnt be able to feed them and would have to give them up. i'm in uppermill oldham citizens advice opened at 9.30am and i was in there till 5pm he tryed a big list of local charatys and said they was either unable to help or couldnt be contacted, and after being refused the crisis loan was told it would be passed to community care grant people and they would contact me in 24 hours. i filled a form in at jobcentre for the csa due to me make a new claim so i dont know what will happen with that. i couldnt beleive social services at all to warn me for asking for help. but if someone told them i wasnt feeding them they would be straight round. he guy at citizens advice said he would try from home to see if he could get us any help and to go in the morning to see if he could help anymore.
its discusting how they cant help in situations like this today i have been a total wreck i could bearly speak on the phone and they still refused to help us

Of course she's desperate, but bleating on the internet isn't going to put pennies in her purse.

Perhaps it's time to start thinking outside the box. Very often, answers can be found in this area and sometimes drastic problems need radical solutions.

I'm sorry but I have to ask, if you have absolutely no money to feed your children, how can you afford internet access? Can you not sell your pc/laptop?

Have you spoken to your GP? I'm not sure how it all works, but I have been told that you can get baby milk on prescription.
