hi all, my ex partner recentley left me and our 2 children with nothing. i made a claim for income support on my own and have told tax credit i am now single who have today shut down my old claim and issued a claim form which will be with me in arround 10 days. i went into inland revenue office and asked for a emergency payment and was refused and i rang to apply for a crisis loan from job centre and was refused as he said i owe the social fund too much. we have nothing the last of the food has been eaten my electric and gas is on a meter which are both gettig low, i cant give baby milk as i cant even afford a box nor nappys. hes took last months rent and hes not paid council tax in months which i have to attend court next week because of non payment, the phone line is in the process of being cut off because of non payment.
all payments was into his account so we have been left with nothing.
i really dont know where to turn now i have no family that could help and dont know what to do.
please can someone advise on anything i could claim to help
thanks

why did tax credits not complete your single claim over the phone? normally they should only need to send out a new form if you are going from a single to joint claim.
try calling back and asking why you werent given this option mention that it is causing hardship0 -
Hi Ella
I've been in a very similar situation at the end of last week, I had been waiting 5 weeks for my single tax credit claim to be processed and found a phone number on this forum, within 20 mins I spoke to the national payments team and got some money within 24 hours, I'm now due to get a lump sum of the backdated payments on thursday. Try phoning 01355359007 between 8am-8pm tomorrow, the phone is normally answered straight away and everyone I have spoken to on that number has been really helpful. Ask to have someone at the national payments team call you as they can arrange emergency payments and they can also speed up the processing of your claim!
Hope that helps, big hugs hun I know EXACTLY what you're going through, I need to go to court on 20th for rent arrears too

i dont know i rang and explained he had left and took everything and the claim was paid in his name, he said he would end the joint claim and issue a new claim form. i explained we had nothing what so ever, he said i had to make a whole new claim and also said to go to local hmrc office and ask for emergency payment, i went and they said he was wrong to tell me that and i wouldnt be able to get one untill at least my claim was on there system and i have to wait for the forms and send them straight back and it could take upto 14 days to register on there system. i really dont know where to turn now0

Hi Ella
Try calling citizens advice bureau, they are usually pretty good at helping out with claims etc and usually know where to go in an emergency situation like this.
Hope you get some help soon.

All my new claim details were taken over the phone, I do know its taking an average of 4 weeks to process at the moment but do try that number I sugggested. I got fed-up after spending over £20 on hold on an 0845 number0

hi, ive just had to make a claim for income support and inform the tax credit that i am now a single parent who closed our claim that was in my ex patners name and said he would issue a form to me and it would be with me in 10 days and i had to make a freah claim as single.
i was in tears and explained we had nothing to live on and he said i could go to local inquirie centre and ask for an emergency payment so i made an appointment and went in and was told there was no chance as my claim wasnt on there system.
i went to jobcentre and was refused a crisis loan as i owe to much from back in 2004.
i posted on here yesterday and was given a number to call taxcredit about payment and they told me the same not untill my claim had been on the system 14 days.
ive been searching the internet to see if theres anything i can do i ant even feed my children now and no where to go for any help.
can anyone sugest anything?
i dont know what else i can do.
someone posted on another site that jobcentre can make a fast track claim for me which only takes 7 days which seems alot quicker than others ive seen.
does anyone know anything about this? please help0
