Davidkathryn said:I have a question, we had a new suite delivered back in September last year. By November.the suite has started to discolour. We complained to the company who eventually sent out someone in January to test the material. The outcome is that it is our fault for wearing dark clothing on the furniture. They are denying that we have any rights and if we want anything doing we need to pay for it ourselves.
On ordering the suite we’re we never told that we should not wear dark clothes, I have never heard of this however because it is written in extremely small writing under the cushions we have no rights.
Please could someone advise me of our rights as I am so upset and frustrated-£2500 is a lot of money to spend on a suite for it to discou
lour within 8 weeks.
Thank you for your thoughts

I've had my TV for just over two years, it's out of guarantee by 2 MTHS. What can I do, I have contacted customer service and was told a replacement TV would be with me that night, no TV. Phoned again and was told it wasn't processed correctly, now I'm waiting for them to phone me.0

My parents, both with massive health issues and in their 80s purchased a swing seat at Cherry Lane garden centre in Hagley as a birthday present for me. They were told it was ex display but were not offered any discount and had to pay £30 for delivery. They weren't even shown all around the item to see if there were any marks. This arrived and upon inspection I discovered the canopy was misaligned and there were many scratches, I even cut my finger on a piece of broken rusty metal. After many emails, even sending the receipt as proof, they have refused to give a refund and state that this was in good condition upon arrival. I know this to be complete and utter nonsense because I wrote an email stating that I wanted to return this item within hours of receiving it and as it had arrived in the rain my partner and son immediately covered it (I have photographic proof of this) to protect it and it has been under cover ever since until we could uncover it to take pictures of all the scratches/damage in order to attempt to get a refund. They deny any damage and have stated firmly that they will not offer a refund, but will only give a credit note. My parents will be completely unable to use a credit note up to £229.00 as they do not go out enough and do not require any items amounting to that price especially from a garden centre, as my mother is very ill with COPD and my father has both bowel and prostate cancer and regularly attending hospital.
I am disgusted at the way they are treating my parents for whom I have had to do all the communicating for this. They deserve to be treated better and with dignity, not cast off as "they are old and won't know if it is scratched and damaged".
Since the above, I have been in touch with Citizens Advice and Resolver, QD Stores are the people who own Cherry Lane and I have sent an email them but, almost 1 month on, I still have had no happy result to this and my father will be attending hospital next month again to the cardiology department as they now fear there is a problem with his heart, I feel that this is not going to help.

Strange how people can write but not read.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.2

I had a problem with Asda charging and Trading Standards took it up. The result was a donation to the charity of my choice.0 -
