Hi, I bought all school uniform for my 3 young kids at Aldi this year, including a pair of £7 shoes for each of them. Within 5 days, two pairs of shoes have broken - the buckle has separated, so they can't be done up with the velcro strap. This upset my girls; they thought it was their fault, and one got teased.. I've reassured them and put them in trainers for now.
I've e-mailed Aldi with photos and they've e-mailed me with "I would like to send them both a £5.00 voucher, along with £15.00 in store vouchers in lieu of a refund for two pair of shoes. This will be a total of £25.00."
Does that mean £25 in vouchers and a refund, so £39 in total or just £25.
They were both distressed, and I'm unsure if £25-39 covers this. Thank you in advance for your time and thoughts on what's best to do here.

So, today I entered my hubby and myself to undertake the Etape Caledonia cycle event on the 26th May. I paid a total of 164.98 plus 15.72 cancellation insurance.
An hour after I paid the entry fees I realised that I had entered the wrong event and needed to cancel.
I went onto the insurance page and seemingly i would need a reason such as death/injury/illness (needs to be verified by a doctor) before I would be entitled to a refund!
I was under the impression that you could cancel a transaction within 30 days and be entitled to a refund? Maybe I am mistaken.
I have emailed the insurance company and the race organisers but have heard nothing back as yet.
Any advice gladly accepted!0 -

I bought online a 2 day make up course for my daughter in London and paid the full amount up front £365 (over 14 days ago). However, she does not want to attend. The company says they do not give refunds. However, when booking you can pay only the deposit of £110 and pay the rest nearer the time. People who paid only the deposit only lose the deposit amount - but because I paid in full, I lose the full amount. This does not seem fair. Do I have any rights to be refunded the difference between the full cost and the deposit?0
