Can't you? Forum Rules, "Please be nice to all MoneySavers. That’s the forum motto. Remember, the prime aim is to help provide info and resources. If you don’t like someone, their situation, their question or feel they’re intruding on ‘your board’ then please bite the bullet and think of the bigger issue. A Guardian article once "doffed its cap" to this forum as being the one place where consumers can collect together and fight back. Our job is to help keep it that way."

Hi. Newbie here but as my case is a bit unique I thought I would post and ask opinion.
I brought a PC including keyboard and mouse on 01 Dec 2013 from
online company in Scotland. (I am in Exeter, Devon) Cost £391.40 and paid via direct transfer.
The first computer disappeared into the black hole that is Hermes.
Another PC was sent out with a complementary FOC Monitor for inconvenience.
I tracked the item all the way from Scotland online and it was delivered on a Saturday at 16.20. NOT TO ME Tho.
As I and Parcel2go deemed it lost and a investigation was started I went and brought another one from a different co. (who also addressed it in correctly so we tracked and watched the van online, we intercepted the courier who brought it, so we got it)
By pure chance I found out where second Parcel had gone, and because I am to honest for my own good retrieved it and sent it back and tracked it back. The FOC Monitor never was delivered anywhere, Just the PC.
The company I brought it from has said that they cannot refund me until the monitor turns up from the black hole that hermes sent it to or they compensate.0 -

hi i have bought a used car from vauxhall dealer evans halshaw 2 weeks ago for £2.500 cash. the car was ment to come with 2 keys and we are yet to receive the second key as they are saying the previous owner has not brought it in. also the heater controls are broken, its the adjuster to move the heat to top bottom or front isnt working. and the glass has fell of and smashed on the passenger mirror. i have also noticed the drivers side mirror glass is dropping of. seems to of lost its stick and is sliding down is it down to me to cover the costs? i have taken out a 12 month warranty with them for £250 but none of the above are covered. thanks david0

Ok just to report a small win i had against argos today.
We bought a hotpoint tumble dryer from argos 4 month ago. It broke down this week and i called argos for reapir under the standard 1 year warranty. They have passed me to indesit to arrange the repair.
Indesit have advised me that they will only repair manufacturer fault (fair enough) but if the engineer deems it to be not the case i will be liable to cover the engineer call-out charge at 120pounds! (they also tried to shove an extended warranty to cover this!)
I had no intention of spending another penny on this neither committing myself to paying extremely high engineer rates when a new machine will cost me less. I believe the process if inspecting the fault should be part of the warranty process
After trying argos again i have talked to citizen advice which didnt help much except that it got me thinking about the language of the law. The law does not cover the process of warranty but it says that its the right of the trader to try and fix a faulty item first...
So i called argos again and said i was not after a repair under warranty. WHAT I WANTED IS A REFUND (for an unsatisfactory item that is not fit for purpose due to the fact it failed so quickly) - i have acknowledged that they have the right to try and repair it first but it is THEIR RIGHT ie they can sort out the engineer - the engineer can call to arrange an appointment but they need to book it. The law clearly states that the primary warranty is with the trader so i was within my right to put the responsibility of sorting this on argos...
in short they have booked an engineer to come and inspect it - as they have booked it directly i am not liable to any extra charges in case he decides its not a covered fault0
