The holiday mood has soon worn off and life is back to normal. It soon goes doesn't it.

DS came to see my mum when we were away and to get his birthday money. He's not coming back home which is really sad but he seems to be o.k and living with some friends. He hasn't got a job and when he phoned my mum he had only just got out of bed at 11am so nothing had changed there!

I need to get my finger out today and get something else listed on ebay, which helps declutter a little and earn some £'s.

We are now looking at adding an extension to the new house and are planning on viewing again next week just to see how much extra space we would get. The plan would be to create 2 extra bedrooms making 5 but then turn one of the rooms into a ensuite for us. The estimated cost for this is around £17k ish as there is a downstairs extension already in place. I'm pretty sure we would get more than this back if we then sold it straight after doing the work.

The boys have had to have a new bus pass to prove that they are under 16 when travelling to school and it has cost £5 each. DS3s has come back saying that as he doesn't live in the area he goes to school in they can't process it. Funny that as it was in the same envelope as his brothers which has come back fine. I hope he doesn't get charged adult full fare tomorrow. It's costing £17 as it is a week just to get to school for the 2 of them and we only live 2.5 miles away from there. The cost of time and diesel for me to take them would be high too - the cost of living is getting quite scary now.

DS4 has come back home for school wanting £8 for another school trip which is needed straight away. I had to say no as I also had to pay £40 last week for the 2 lads to go to Alton Towers at the end of this month. He's not bothered about it at all. I did wonder whether I was being tight though. But £48 on school trips is rather a lot of money all at once.

Good news though...my ex was spotted working last week when I believe he still claiming JSA. Naughty naughty ..so I need to phone the CSA to inform them and ask them to check on their systems if he's declare it or not. I wouldn't mind he only paid arrears for the children and not here and now money anyway. He owes well over 10k and it would be lovely to get it all at once! :) I can dream.

I've been in the garden today and cut a huge vase of blue Iris for my lounge. They are stunning and would probably cost about £5plus in the shops. I love to grow my own flowers and bring them indoors, especially Iris as it reminds me of my Gran , who's sadly now died and my Mum who lives in France, who I miss lots.

We've put some fuel in the family car and used Mr T 5p off coupon and saved £1.80 , I've op'd this and some other money today so my total for May now stands at £430.79. We did a food shop which came to £62.51 which is excellent for us. We'll see how we go on though!

My OH has an interview lined up for Wednesday , with a international company he used to work for. Fingers crossed that the pay is about the same as he's on now as we'll save on fuel if he gets it as its a lot closer to home than his present work. :j

I'm pretty annoyed today and the buyers report has come back ( after taking 3 weeks!! ) with a few cat 3's on it, classed as urgent repair. It's a nothing of a job. The estimated value as it stands with the repairs needing doing is : 120k which is the sale price that we have agreed on BUT he still wants to knock us down another 3k. He says that he now needs another surveyors report to check the roof as his other surveyor couldn't check if there was condensation in there or not. ( even though he was up there for 15 minutes ) hmmmmn.. Is this the same roof that he's already knocked 5k off the sale of the house because it need a new one ??! I've told the EA's to tell him to * insert you own choice of word here * and he either goes ahead or he can jump.

Our report on the new house has thrown up some surprising things , which I'm a little worried about. The damp proof has failed , something to do with the membrane. Now I need to find out if all the plaster needs to come off the internal walls as its ready to walk into. I don't ideally want to do such a big job with little ones around also the chimney breast has been removed and needs looking at as the surveyor says its not secure. The value as it is now has come in at 167k which is also our agreed price.

I can't now do anything about the new house until the greedy buyer ( who is a vicar !! ) comes back to us and says yes or no. I understand that people want a good deal but theres a good deal and theres greed. and if he knocks us down we then have to knock our sellers down (which we're not doing )..all because of this man.

OH has his interview today. :j Although since it has been arranged another job has come up that's a lot more money but still the travelling. I suppose the right job will materialise along the way. Sometimes it's so hard to know which road to go down.

    plans for the week..

I need to list some items on ebay this week and get some more ££'s now

    Exactly what my mum said!

I've not overpaid on the mortgage for someone to knock me down for that reason alone.

OH has been for his interview and it went well but it would be a 10k drop with no healthcare or bonus of 50% which he gets now so its a no go but he did make a contact there who is keeping his name for future vacancies.

£1.67 has cleared in TCB account which I've stuck in the ISA.
