I had a mini panic moment this morning when I realised the tax credits hadn't gone in. They advise you to wait 4 weeks after a change of circumstances but I wasn't really prepared to wait after phoning last week to tell them that I had officially finished my mat leave and was now a SAHM.
Good job I did as they mistakenly had me down as our combined earnings for 2011 to be £354 which is part of my mat money for April. We are getting 2 payments on Tuesday of £417 and £34 and another £417 was going in next Friday. Wow! It's too late to stop the 3rd payment now so thanks to someone getting it wrong I've now been overpaid.:D
The good news ( there's more ) is that the credits seem to have increased by their calculation despite being told they wouldn't be by about £30 pw.:D
Bad news ..my bedroom window with fire escape hinges won't close, it looks like I'm going to have to call them out. I really hope their isn't a call out fee and the repair is under their 10 year guarantee.
Boys want to go on a school trip to Alton Towers £20 each which is good value but why do the schools only give you 2 weeks notice to pay for it when I work out my budget monthly!:(
EDIT : My fire escape bedroom window is wide open and they can't come out to it until the 13th May! She said its not an emergency. No but it would be if I was burgled as my bedroom window is wide open. Terrible customer service. I've stood on a chair and a little green tab at the top of the window has got a groove in it , making the top of it stick up, therefore the window won't close.I think a knife could slice the bit off that's sticking up but I'll see what OH says when he comes home from work. I can't wait until 13th May and then possibly have a £60 plus vat call out chargeI can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
I've wrote to the tax office to ask if they will look at my last 6 years tax to see if I'm due a rebate now that I've finished work, it's worth a try to see if I'm due anything.
I watched the royal wedding and loved the bridesmaid dress - really gorgeous and elegant. Kates dress was lovely too.I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -

Iris - sounds like thing are going well! Congrats on the wedding - how lovely. I will continue to follow your diary with interest as we hope to move next year and the costs you are paying are giving me a good idea of how much money it will involve.

Thanks Newgirly & Pinky.:)
Well less than a week until my holiday and a week today is my birthday. I've stocked up on the wine already.:) I can't wait to relax and get in that hottub with a glass of wine.
And I'm getting married in 2 years and 1 week , on my *mumbles * birthday!:j
The tax credits have been paid in the bank today so I've made a small OP of £19 as I want to keep hold of money as long as possible in our account as they are wrong and I don't know when the next correct payment will be paid.
I'm slowly sorting through the house and clearing and throwing stuff ready for the move. Nothing much has happened since their surveyor came last week so we are still waiting to see if they want to reduce further, hopefully not as I'm working to tight figures as it is so we borrow as least as possible. Our survey is booked in for the 9th May.
I'm hoping that this wind has died down even more today and its a fabulously sunny day!I can't be bothered updating this anymore0
