Just been catching up, Iris - what great news re the house! Hope it all works out ok. Moving house is exciting, I always think - but so terribly expensive
We moved here in Oct 2005 and I've just dug out the bill from the filing: £16228.56!!!:eek::eek:That's excluding the removal van costs (£575 from memory, and they all agreed afterwards that we were undercharged) Then the takeaways and a couple of incidentals (inc new keys as there was only one set, etc) and there wasn't really much change from £17k - blimey!!!
I'd love house insurance bills like those mentioned on this thread - ours are somewhere between £80-85/ mth (think it's £83.25) - - and I couldn't get it cheaperI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -

Wow Greent that was some bill ! It's exciting but it has been so stressful. I've now taken a step back from it all and letting it go over my head. I'm thinking just to let it run its natural course and in the meantime I'm paying my normal monthly mortgage amount and therefore the solicitors bill can come out of what's left.
We've both been discussing just how stressful our lives are and have been over the last 20 months since just before DDs birth. We both had swine flu when I was expecting, Dd's late arrival , trouble with a neighbour and his behaviour towards my children , DHs redundancy , another pregnancy, loads in between and now one of my children is "missing". We just haven't had a break from any of it. We've decided that lack of space at home really does contribute to this stress and when we move we are going to make sure that all our families lives are as calm as possible. It's really not healthy for any of us to live this way.
I feel its aged me, I think i have more wrinkles although DH says I don't, either way it's not good to live like that.
I've been enjoying the sunshine and therefore haven't been doing many surveys but I have felt much better for it. We're planning a BBQ for Sunday which is DHs only day off this week so I'm really looking forward to family time there. It's suppose to be a lovely day too. :j
We went fishing on the canal last night and DH caught some tiddlers ..I caught..drum roll...nothing!
....and as of today I've officially finished work, my mat leave has now finished and I'm a kept woman. I'm liking it!I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
What a gorgeous day!
I'm just going to order Baby blue a cotbed from Mamas and papas in the sale for when we move. We wanted matching cotbeds for the 2 little ones but seeing as DDs cotbed is now over £600 theres no chance of that happening. I can't believe that in 2009 we paid £420 for it and now its gone up so much. I've been trying to find a code but no success, mustn't grumble though as there's already £70 off in the sale and cashback available.
Think we'll get out in the garden this afternoon and make the most of itI can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -

Thanks guys.
Right a important decision needs to be made today .......what to have for a BBQ? We are going shopping soon for some bits for tomorrow as its DHs day off then and we are going to chill out. Don't you just love Easter when every is things shut and there is no pressure to do anything. Its like the world goes quiet. Love it !
I'm just hoping that the new next door but one neighbours don't play there music again with the french doors open. Which seems to be the case when the sun has been out recently. We have 2 rented houses now in the street and have had trouble like that from both of them. The Smiths at full blast for a few hours is not good for anyone, followed by Oasis and football anthems. *rolls eyes*
Baby Blue has just started to feed himself with a bottle and it has free'd up my time tremendously, I suddenly seem to be able to do things. Saying that he's now moved to solids so we are a bit slow there. I think my son needs to learn that he actually has to open his mouth to feed and I'm not meant to make him laugh in order to shovel a spoonful in his mouth.
I ordered baby blue a cot bed from M&P and we are collecting it next week. I wasn't going to pay the delivery charge. I just wish that he could go in it now as he's currently in a travel cot until we move and I have to take it down every day. Not good for him or me.
Hope everyone has a truely "egg site ing" weekend! :easter:

We had a wonderful BBQ and I only had to buy muffins and salad as we already had everything else in. So a relatively cheap bbq.
I'm loving this sunshine and it looks like another lovely day. I have my 2nd wash on.
I finally got around to putting the electricity monitor that we got when we signed up to E on and its making us turn everything off even more. DS1 had some toast sat in the dark last night !Taking it too far there son!
I currently have a victoria sponge in the oven and I'm tidying up for the buyers surveyor coming tomorrow.
Oh exciting news.. we're getting married in May 2013! :j:j
We saw a venue 2 years ago in LLandudno and they will allow our babies to go ( no children under 6 are allowed) but wont allow them to sleep , not even in one of the 16 cottages they have in the grounds so that's a no go. I'm not sleeping without the littlies nearby. We've now found somewhere local and it looks really nice. A pleasant surprise when I've looked at the website. We're really excited about it. I think its a now or never wedding as we have always wanted to get married but how could we with debts? So now's the idea time.I can't be bothered updating this anymore0 -
Huge congrats on the upcoming wedding. We got married nearly two months ago now and it was a fab day. I look forward to hearing your planning.0
