Hi Ladywriter - yep did all I was told I think and it's much better in general. Couple of little things I still need to sort but they can be the subject of future threads and aren't urgent. Got 1GB of memory waiting to be installed and will buy a can of compressed air to give the innards a good clean next weekend. Such a relief to have it running better but now don't have any ready-made excuse for procrastinating any more!!

mine runs faster to but I sent it off cause it was sick.
