Windows defender will make it groan a little more than it needs to, if it's still slow, disable the realtime scanning.

Something like, Control Panel, Windows Defender, Tools, Options, Real-time Protection, then untick 'use real-time protection'.
    Move along, nothing to see.

There are some Services that we can change to Manual, but I won't bother with those for now.

Perhaps you can reboot and post another log to confirm. Also let us know how it is running.

It's certainly running much better - not nearly as dire as it was but I think it could still do with a bit more help - is next step buying some memory? (Got a refund for the 4GB - no problem).

    Where's the what??

Can I just ask before I do these - what do they all do? Are they going to affect the running of the programs they're associated with or will it not make any difference to them? (Facebook photo uploader, Panasonic, Sony and Media Player in particular).

    The lighthouse ;)

anything beginning with O16 is downloaded, so if you need them again in future you can download them again.

Sony - depends if you use it, phone software.

Media player no unless you share media across a network
