Yep, you can and should report them for harassment as it is a criminal offence and you can tell them to desist and to return the alleged debt (which you expressly deny) to the originating company:

And tell your wife not to be nervous about this mickey mouse ticket, most of us on here have ignored PPC bogus tickets over the years and some people collect them deliberately just to cost a PPC money.

Pretty much echoes my thoughts initially, although the worrier in me did (and sometimes still does) wonder what would happen IF they chose it as a 1 in 100 or whatever to pursue it, as i have ignored them, and not corresponded in the slightest.

Would i be able to say in court:

"i never bothered because i wasn't the driver, the claim isn't against me and i have no legal obligation to tell UKCPS or whoever, the driver at the time of the alleged offence"

Or would it be frowned upon because i made NO contact???

I'm not about to contact them either.

I too have recieved the final letter (supposedly) before court action and i will update with what does (or more likely doesn't) happen, even if its to benefit other people searching for this company's attitude on the net, thats why we're all here after all isn't it?

Its a good point because yes, as a law abiding citizen you can get blinded and worried with a lot of the jargon contained in the letters.

Dare i say it if these companies imposed a charge that was more in line with the "offence" such as a £5 or £10 charge for a "violation" in a free retail car park, then i bet the vast majority would fess up and just pay. Karma and all that.

What boils my p**s is that they fine you £60, rising to £100 with a chance of an "appeal" only when you've paid the extortionate fee.

One last thing. A MASSIVE thank you to all the regular posters on here so far. It must be never ending the questions of worry popping up repeatedly but you never get told "do a search" or the like, just more words of comfort and reassurance, which is what the vast majority of noobs like myself need to hear.

We don't know what its like in the Private PCN world and many many of us fall for their bullying scare tactics. Often we need reassurance from people experience as we are constantly asking "what if this" "what if that".

I'd say our cries for help and advice are championed by yourselves.

Why bother even worrying about these things. Court proceedings are less likely than Elvis claiming a lottery win without buying a ticket.

Hi everyone,
only just joined so please bear with me! i'm at my wits end i received a parking ticket from ukcps on 2nd july - the ticket was dated the 7th july and the time was 12.00 - 12.05 in speke retail park in a mobility bay. I ama registered badge holder and i always put my badge on the dashboard but over this period there were high winds and as i and my friend poened the doors the badge must have dropped to the floor i took advice from a solicitor on the phone and he said the ticket was void because the date was wrong and to write to tell them this. unfortunately i sent my letter to council in error not realising they were private firm and the letter was returned to me however i rcvd a letter from ukcps saying 60 had increased to 100 pounds i contacted c a b who told me theyd write to them on my behalf - they still havent had reply - i received latter this morning telling me ive ignored an offer of 95 pounds and that they are giving me last chance to pay or court proceedings will incurr costs of 325 pounds i have rang c a b and he is now going to forward to their solicitor to look at. in the meantime i received a second ticket on the 20th july again at speke retail park and again same threatening letters i was also parked with my badge on display a few days later in speke and a warden came up to me and started to write a ticket until he realised i had my badge on display! I am now paranoid at parking anywhere for fear of these invisible people who are in hiding waiting to pounce on me i cannot afford these fees but they say they have photographic evidence and i have to pay PLEASE HELP what should i do im scared ill end up in court with ccjs against me and a massive bill to pay.

You are taking this far far too serious. They have hooked you now and will harrass you even more.
Do not contact them again whatsoever just TOTALLY IGNORE THEM.
You have done nothing illegal whatsoever and you somehow believe you have, you haven't.

They are parasites who prey on the unknowledgable, well now you have the knowledge. Ignore them.

Just google UKCPS and then come back and tell us what you are going to do then, ie ignore them.

NOTHING WILL HAPPEN TO YOU, IGNORE THEM.

No such company has successfully taken out ccjs against anyone at all because it is illegal for them to fine people for parking on private land incorrectly or otherwise in this way. They are masters of deception/scammers/conmen. Your credit rating is NOT at risk.

If they continue to harass you; do what I did and send them a letter threatening legal action for harassment, then ask CAB to tell you how to sue them:)

I wonder why the CAB are getting in touch with a solicitor or indeed bothering to write to anyone?

A complete waste of everyone's time, as the CAB should have been able to tell you immediately to ignore all communication from the lowlife scum.
