Thanks but not seen this situation posted before - so wondered if this was a tipping point so to speak to warrant real court proceedings unlike their joke court proceeding letters or they still did not have a legal standing in bringing civil proceedings.0 -
In theis recent Guardian letters question, Solicitor Tim Cary sums up the hoops that a PPC would have to jump through to get a case to Court:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2010/sep/04/parking-ticket-private-property
As you can see, he advises everyone to ignore PPC bogus tickets, he also went on Watchdog in May and made a paper aeroplane out of a private parking ticket. Can't say it any clearer than that really.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The article does not really clear things up in my case because I parked in a permit car park(not knowingly) without a permit and have admitted to parking there over the phone.0

You are taking these people too seriously. Don't forget they are just private citizens with no special powers.
From now on do not contact them again, and ignore any correspondence from them unless (and this is a very remote possibility) they send you properly authenticated court papers. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

If you did not know you were in a permit car park then the signs are not clear enough, and it should be an easy win in the unlikely event that you are taken to court.
As others have said ignore everything from now on. If you continue to be worried, post each piece of correspondence on here so we can put your mind at rest.0 -
i too have recieved a letter of court proceedings london for the payment of £95 instead of £325!!
Shall i just ignore it, they wont take me to vourt will they, they are nuisances i swear :-)0 -
£95 instead of £325 I think that answers your question they are getting desperate now. Keep ignoring and the £95 will be £00
-
If you owed them £325 you would have been to court by now.
Offering a discount is a sure sign they are about to give up.0 -

No don't contact them, ignore them. If its the first you have heard from them then the threat of court is just that a threat.
Its not a fine its an invoice asking you to pay! If its UKCPS it would not have been a road it would have been a car park for a retail outlet normally. Or a road within the car park.
Although it may make you feel better to tell them to do one contact only encourages them. Best to ignore.0
