Have you downloaded the Audible Downloader? If not, go to http://www.audible.co.uk/aduk/site/software/index.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes and download the Audible Manager you need, ie for PC or I-Tunes. Once you have that installed, it should download fine. Hope it works! :)
  • Please help!

I get to the point of pushing the download button. Then, instead of getting the book, all that downloads is something called aw_helper that opens in Wordpad. Presumably it is a program that is supposed to start and actually do the download, but I don't know how to run it. This is happening in Firefox. I tried in Internet Explore but got to a page that asked for my credit card number.

Could some kind soul please contact Audible about this problem? I am in Africa so I can't just call them, and these downloads would make a lot of difference to me.

  • Ok, so I used Firefox, completed all the info on the Guardian page & then registered with audible & it just took me to their home page-no hint of the offer.
I did a search for 'The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo'- as I believe it should still be avail until 12th-then I added it to my shopping basket- as it didn't appear I could get it any other way & proceeded to checkout, where it asked for billing info?!?
So what happened to the free dwonload bit?

You need to follow the link (www.audible.co.uk/girlwithdragontattoo) rather than searching for it. It should work then if you have already registered with the Guardian.
  • ok i used the link & downlaoded the A D
    & now?
How do I get to the part on the audible website that says I can downlad for free? Anybody??
HAve looked on the audible Homepage
Am I just being really dense??
  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Found it-one more question-it asks for billing inof once I have registered- do I need to complete that although it's free?
  • Frustratingly the audible link for armando iannucci just times out.

I tried filling out the info again on the guardian site but it recognises I've already registered the email address with the offer.

Hi. It shouldn't be asking you for any billing info. Please don't fill any in or you may be charged. If you go back the OP's post on the first page of this forum and ensure that you have (1) registered on the Guaradian website and (2) are clicking on one of the 7 links to each audio book, you should be taken straight to the free download page. As you already have the download manager now, it should go straight through at £0.00. Hope that helps.
