Thanks for the heads up on this fantastic offer.
The first three have now expired - so if anyone one still wants the last few - set them up now. Unfortunately I missed Matter - that will teach me to procrastinate!!

Try the links. I've just got the last one, Yes Man. I don't know if they're all still available but some might be so it's worth checking.
Thanks very much for this, I only checked the 1st one and assumed they would all be expired. But have just managed to get 2 of them. Very pleased:T baby boy born 01/01/2012 my New Years Day Boy

I have been trying to follow up the lead to free audiobooks and just keep going round in circles. I may be stupid but the site is not intuitive. Totally fed up.0

The offer has expired.
After endless problems I had left my computer downloading overnight. When I got in this morning I found that the download had been interrupted, and I could not start it again.0 -
I have found a way to listen to these on my (generic) MP3 player: I would imagine this process would work for a Sony Walkman as well. And I have not needed to buy anything extra.
Firstly, I downloaded into iTunes (sorry for those of you who hate this package). I then downloaded and installed the free version of iTurns, which seems to be called DVDneXtCOPY iTurns. These two packages worked together to rip the Audible files. The process took all morning, but I just had to start it and get on with other things until it finished, so no big deal. I ended up with about twenty folders, each containing up to ten files. Each file is in a format called OGG. You can convert them into MP3 fairly easily using a free package called Audacity, but there are so many files that doing this would be a real chore. Fortunately, my MP3 player can handle OGG files so I shall just listen to them as they are, although each file would be a third smaller if converted into MP3.0 -
The following four are still available, I downloaded them a few minutes ago....

for all of you that have missed this and still want some audiobooks:
if you join the mcvities vip club, for the expense of one pack of chocolate digestives (5 points) you can redeem any two books from Audible, plus if you're a first time member they give you 14 days free membership, just remember to cancel before it expires or they'll charge you.0 -
I've managed to get all the books including the last one without any trouble, but I am an excisting member.
As a new user I'm not allowed to post the link for the last book but I got to it by replacing the last part of a previous link with 'yesman', still works on 16th September. Thanks everyone.0 -
Unless anyone knows of a decent, DRM-free audiobook vendor ?
I have used http://www.silksoundbooks.com/ - Not free, but about £8 per book, but they are unabridged so they run for ages. I have listened to Return of the Native (great book) so many times that it works out very cheap per hour of listening!0
