You can also download to some SatNavs - my Garmin Nuvi has the capability and a friend uses her TomTom.0

Seems to be a problem for 'existing members' as my husband has not been able to download either of the books. I had no problem with the first one, but have failed with the second too. I cleared cookies and tried again, but it didn't help. I have also sent an email to customer services. It sounds as if they haven't got this set up quite right.
The "Problem" is a simple one ...
As you already "bought" your audio book, it is no longer in your basket — go to "My Library" instead.0 -
very timely. i was half way though reading the GWTDT when i got the audio book. pity it doesn't have chapter stops as i would love to move easily back and forth from audio to visual. also missing are the 'domestic violence quotes that open major section breaks. i wonder if the paid for versions are the same??
the ian banks one does have chapter stops. started that today in the car.
thank you so much everyone. your comments were invaluable. i have tried audible before and couldn't get it to work. didn't realise i had to download their software. silly me.
I've just finished listening to the unabridged version of the Stieg Larsson millenium trilogy from Audible, and this does have chapter stops and all the quotes. Also the narrator is absolutely excellent and I happily listened to him for hours. Really enjoyed the books. Currently on the Ian M Banks story from here. It's quite fun but I find my mind drifting during the endless descriptions of Sci Fi land :rotfl:. Many thanks to the op & for the links to the free audiobooks. They're great for listening during gardening / foraging / jam making / etc. :T0 -
I have been able to download all books. The French one wouldn't download on the first try, but was perfectly fine the next day and downloaded with the book for that day also.
I use the Ian Banks story to fall asleep to!!! LOL Just so soothing...
Again OP thank you!!!! Brilliant offer.0 -
I can't seem to find a thread for the final book. It looks as if it might be 'squeezed out'. Do I look elsewhere?0

I've emailed them because I'm running Linux (Ubuntu) and to download the file, you seem to need to install some software they provide which will only work on machines running Windows
Considering how many people are making the switch-over to Linux, it's amazing that Audible have decided that it's worth excluding such a huge customer base by making users jump through all these ridiculous hoops that wouldn't stop anyone who was actually intent on illegally sharing their files. If they do get back to me with a way to download when running Linux, will post back on here.
Please let me know if you get anywhere - I've got the books in my library now, just in case they ever realize that there are more than three operating systems out there!!
I run Linux Mint and was looking forward to a nice, simple MP3 download so I could listen either in the car or on my player, but it's not possible with Audible.0 -
I've downloaded all the books in AA format and also got goldwave following the suggestion previously but can't work out how to convert to MP3, has anyone managed to successfully convert them?
