Wow I hadn't realised that it had spread to nearly legal too. I think the comments on their post concerning the potential test case of putting GMTV's camera crew in court as agents aiding an illegal eviction is interesting, though I doubt you'd win. Pretty sure illegal eviciton case against Ms Butler would work though, though that's just opinion.

    Its my opinion too.

On the GMTV clip that was posted in the last thread, I was actually rather incensed by the comments Butler made when talking about how she wanted to get the tent she had left in the TENANTS PROPERTY and was angry that she wasnt allowed in!! The staggering cheek of it.

I rented a house a few years ago and the landlady lived overseas. We were told we would have full use of the cellar, moved in , all her belongings are there. She used to pop back to get a bit of paper from the filing cabinet, with very little notice and sometimes just let herself in unannounced. She felt herself ENTITLED to use the property in the way she wanted ( storage, general items she needed) and to wander in whenever she was in town.

I was young and naive then, I wouldnt stand for it now, mind you. But the sense of entitlement BUTLER has seems rather the same, shes entitled to store her stuff there!! She has rented the house out, and that tenant is entitled to quiet enjoyment and I dont think you can really get that if the LL stores belongings there they want access to, Makes me mad :rotfl:

Personally I thought the whole going back for the tent was very ill -advised and Im sure that could be seen as harassing behaviour ???. The camera crews would be super intimidating, and designed to be so??? . All these friends who are campaigning for her Im sure would have let her sleep on their sofas, especially housing the child, if it came to that?? I dont get it really???
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Indeed. Nuremburg trials established "I was just doing it because I was told to" was not a valid defence for war crimes but I couldn't see them getting challenged in civil court for turning up to report a news story on a dispute on the order of their boss.

Well i go to work and come home to find THE thread has gone!

(This is a joke and none of the above actually relates to anyone or anything real)
TBH it was probably only a matter of time.

The thread has stamped its authority on 2 legal sites & I don't think they are going anywhere.

How it ever got to this is unbelievable, the utter claptrap from the landlord & media she stirred up, is beyond belief.

I think that's what has upset people. If she'd been upfront, and left the hystrionics and self rightiousness to one side, I's have far more sympathy.

Yes john I agree because I know that if I rented my house out and tried to prematurely evict my tenant that no one would entertain me.

So what has Pocahontas got that I haven't?

Or should I ask "Who lives in a Street like this"?

I did wonder to myself what part (if any) the immediate neighbours played.

    It's very obvious really:
    1) Tenants renting from LLs who are letting out something that has been their primary home should have less legal protection than tenants renting homes that their LL has never lived in.
    2) The priorities of the court system should be overhauled so that eviction proceedings take precedence over all other cases, so that LLs don't have to wait.

Where oh where has that rolling eyes smiley gone? Or the shrugging one? I miss them for threads like this.
There is always this one Lydia........ :wall:
