You answer only selected posts, geordieracer. And I thought you'd gone off this thread?

The Admin Fee is the point under discussion, NOT the Penalty fare.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

My company makes money out of delivering a safe and secure and on time services to London. if people choose to abuse that then they should be penalised should they not?

Again you are missing the point
Her daughter messed up and i think in my first reply to this thread i stated that they should pay up. they have tried not too by trying to use some flimsy wording that they got off here about car parking tickets.

She has paid the penalty fare, so your point is not relevant!
i understand the fact that she is 15 but i also understand that as the darling lovely does no wrong daughter tried to hide the fine that she quite legally incurred it now goes to those who may try and claim responsibility for.

Again your condescending reply suggest that you are missing the point, this is not about the penalty fare, but a grossly inflated admin fee
Its not my fault - If the OP had taken my advice in post 2 we still would not be here 2 weeks later discussing it.

Its a forum, people are entitled to discuss this if they wish, if you don't like to, don't come to this thread!
Im sorry some of you seem to think this dishonesty by her daughter is acceptable but maybe now you will see that we have to protect our revenue somehow.

Where has anyone said that we endorse dishonesty on this thread? Again you are going off a tangent that is not relevant, you seem to do that an awful lot, stick to what we are discussing, the grossly inflated admin fee, and the fact that they don't involve the parents until said grossly inflated fee is added!
We provide a service and its not for free.

Did anyone say the service is free? Really you go off the topic in hand into other matters that are not relevant here
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

They probably still deemed she was old enough to pay the penalty fare on her own but because of the FACT that had not paid the original Penalty Fare then its quite obvious that she had no intention of paying so now they escalate it to her parents..

So if you get a speeding fine and don't pay it, do they police 'escalate' the matter to your parents? You're either treating the traveller as a child or you're not. You can't change your mind which they are when it suits.

This thread has fully reminded me what sad and pathetic little angry jobsworths train conductors and 'revenue protection' officers are, probably bitter at having a rubbish dead end job dealing with people who earn many times their own salaries every day. It also reminds me why I make sure I !!!! them off as much as possible (;)legally) whenever their sorry selves cross my path. Thank god I'm starting a new job which I can commute to by car so I don't have to deal with these losers any more.

Good luck OP, I hope you get to show these profiteering scum up for what they are in court

taffy maybe i have not made it clear - the £20 PF is only available if you pay it or appeal in the 21 days from when you were issued with it.

Ill stick to it now cos yesterday was a drunken day really after the football but she got caught and she or her parents have to pay the fine.

If we did not have deterrents which are endorsed by both the government and the BTP then every one would travel for free.

FATBALLZ im glad you seem to think you can annoy them (legally) we would not need RPIs if people paid their correct fare for their journey.

And tell me when do they make a concious decision to contact the parents of a child, before or after the 21 days?

Its not a fine but unenforceable admin fee, only courts can issue fines, train companies cannot issue them.

That is not relevant, the OP has paid the penalty when she found out about it, the admin fee is not a deterrent, its there to boost the profits of train companies, the persistent fare dodgers are never chased, why is that? All you go for are the soft targets, that is why one company made millions out of this last year!

Again your talking !!!! love. i know they take the most persistent offenders to court - we even had one fella who works for the home office pay 11K rather then go to court because he was caught cheating the system.

Again because you cant seem to grasp what i am saying - It is enforceable and will be more if the OP goes to court.

Well all i can say here then is to "button it" till she has been to court and i willing to put money where my mouth is, If she looses then i bet most here would all chip it and help her pay the fine :)

Now lets see if you can put money where your mouth is, If she wins or it dont even get to court then you pay what the amount would have been.

    Deal??

Unlike you i cant seem to be on here day after day trying to find a way of not paying what is due.

bashy - why should i button it?I gave the best advice in my first post as i know its right and proper. If the OP had heeded this advice then we would no be here would we?

Really? Why not, what's wrong with your time management and multi tasking then?! :p

I have a full-time job and an OH and 4 kids but yes, most days I come on here to support people asking questions. I see that as a good thing not a bad thing, I like to keep busy and to help people save money and if I were, say, a CAB Debt Advice volunteer presumably you'd think that was OK but not on a forum? Why?.

The typical people we regulars help & advise on the parking boards have no fine 'due' anyway - dunno what you are on about with your 'not paying what is due' accusation. Just because some piece of paper asks for money doesn't mean it has to be paid or is even a lawful charge - and that admin fee is one classic example!

bashy - why should i button it? I gave the best advice in my first post as i know its right and proper. If the OP had heeded this advice then we would no be here would we?

It's not the best advice though, it's biased advice and you've failed to grasp the issue under discussion, time and again. And you have still been selective with the questions you answer, why don't you 'get it' about admin fees having to pass a test of reasonableness to be legally enforceable? Forget the penalty fine - the ADMIN FEE and the way it has been demanded is the unfair charge in question.

Methinks you just want the last word don't you - but that's the prerogative of the OP, to update us in the end.

Have you read anything in this thread? Then if you did you would have realised that my first advice saying pay it would have set you up.

Its not biased it is telling the FACTS...again its very very very rare that the TOCs lose.
