I don't!
Ok then - go on a train without a ticket and let us all knows what happens when you get caught..
It wont be pretty
Why would I do that? I pay my way when I do actually use trains, and they do have barriers on the train stations near me, so would not be able to board trains without a ticketExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. The reason i said what i did was because you were trying to say that the OP may have a case for her fare evading daughter.
Im not bothered either way. My advice was right in post number 2 - Ive been posting more because yourself has been trying to justify not paying the fine for some reason.one of the famous 50 -

Where did I say that? All I am saying that the rules around notifying her parents need to be looked at

Where did I say that? And its not a fine the PFN is unenforceable unless taken to courtExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?

sorry your wrong..
So In your opinion , its wrong to inform the parents of a child that they didn't have a ticket until the train company has had a chance to add their cash cow admin fee on top, thanks for that.
And I have a very good idea thank you, the fact is the rules around this should be changed, it makes me wonder how much is made from children in this way, must be quite a bit of commision for you, and a nice earner for your company.
The regs around this will be challenged at some point, as mentioned above it will open the flood gates if they are deemed unfair.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?

Well I think you're wrong to try to defend rules that seem unfair. No-one said you don't know what you are talking about but you do come across as biased I am afraid, and completely going off on one at people who are simply raising the fairness of the system as an issue.
In fact if you read back over the thread you'll see that everyone was saying to pay the £20 (including the OP). The issue is the adding of the admin fee after only allowing the minor - not the adults who would actually pay the penalty - a so-called appeals period (which IMHO most young teenagers would bury their head in the sand about if caught by someone they perceive to be in authority. They would no doubt hope that it had gone away due to the lack of a letter home in good time).
If the company simply informed the parents up front and allowed them to decide whether to pay the £20 or appeal then that would be a 'fairer'system. But I guess they'd make less money out of it.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Why are the rules unfair?
I will answer everything else if you can explain to me why a person who is taking a service of transport from one place to another without paying the appropriate fare and being fined for it plus the additional penalty for not paying that fine is acceptable then i will shut up.
Can you?one of the famous 50 -

Because it relies on a child to own up to their parents that this has occured, simply sending a letter to the parent would mean that they have an opportunity to pay or appeal. Kids will try and not get into trouble with their parents, its their nature which the train companies are exploiting imo
And you keep on saying that we find it acceptable for not having a ticket, now tell me who has actually said that here, you like putting words in peoples mouths on this thread, you say people are saying things that we are not.
Stick to the question, why do you think its acceptable not to inform the parents of a child about a penalty fare until its to late to appeal ?Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?

The letter was sent to the parents though.:j:j:j:j:j:j:j
when it was apparent that the daughter could not pay the fine.
I have never said its acceptable for not having a ticket. your making up things up now.. look at the bold text.
ill tell you why it is acceptable to not inform the parents is because the child is over the age of 10.
If they were under that age then we have a duty of care. but if they are under that age then they should not be on their own. She got caught not paying her fare.
SHE DID NOT PRODUCE A VALID TICKET FOR HER JOURNEY
Are you going to argue any more about this very salient fact or what?one of the famous 50 -

Yes and when an admin fee was added, and I guess at that point you get your commission

I think you should look at your posts again, you are putting words in people's mouths!

So you expect children as young as 10 to act in an adult way, bloody hell you are having a laugh aren't you!

You have a duty of care for all children, and all customers for that matter
SHE DID NOT PRODUCE A VALID TICKET FOR HER JOURNEY
Yes we know
Are you going to argue any more about this very salient fact or what?
The argument is about whether a parent should be told about a penalty fare before an admin fee and your commission is addedExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
