I made the lamb donner today - not being a big fan of donners I thought it tasted ok but was a bit dry tbh. and I did use the cheapest lamb mince with the high fat content. the grandkids said it was nice but I did notice they only had a little bit each.............hmmmmmmm. I must have gone wrong somewhere but cant for the life of me think where!0

I must admit the machine at McDs was a bit like a printing press which you put the buns in and then squashed them down. Can't wait to get my copy and try out the kebab recipes.0 -

Oh yeah, Molly you're right, I've used the Warburtons rolls before and they are perfect, sugar content is just right and density is similar to McDs.0 -
Oh my word!! This is the best sweet & sour chicken balls I have ever had! I think the sauce was lovely (I swapped white vinegar for rice wine vinegar as thats what a lot of Chinese use) and teh batter was so light & crisp! We are definitely going to have this again.0

I used white sugar and light brown sugar (not muscavado, just normal brown sugar). I followed the recipe 100% apart from the different vinegar. My DH said all that was missing was a wee bit of pineapple chunk!0 -

Excellent so its either that my takeaway has different sauce OR my method and sugar I used. The chicken and rice were perfect just my sauce needed a little help but next time I'll follow it to the letter
Thanks for letting me know :TEmma
