Could I just ask - with the silicone muffin trays do they have to also be put on a baking tray? Otherwise wouldn't they flop about when you take them out the oven?

sorry sb, I knew it was one of the main posters from this thread, but my memory's not what it was, I blame my age :o

    I've amended my post :A

That's my problem too, I will run upstairs for something and when I have got there I can't remember what the hell I went up there for!

I went out one day last year and had to park up in the street at the end of the road to try and remember which shop I was going to!

    Now that is bad. :o
  • Missjennipenni, your burger looks fab, with regards to your buns not being quite right, did you caramelise them by putting them cut side down in to a hot, dry pan? Haven't got my copy of the book yet so don't know if it's mentioned or not. I've finally succumbed today and ordered it, but I did use to work in MaccieDs many, many years ago and they did the buns with a big hotplate/toasting type machine which I remember operating.......oh how I lived and learned!!!!

Yep, I did, he includes that as part of the recipe. My buns were just too puffy , not flat like the McDs ones and had a more yeasty taste i think. Thanks for the tip though :)
  • Hi guys, new here. After reading all your raves about this book, ordered it and at this moment have kebab meat in oven. Also have ingredients for muffins in fridge, only thing is, i don't have cooking rings for eggs... any ideas?

Do you have metal pastry cutters? I used one to do my eggs in. Careful though! They obviously get very hot and there's no 'handle' like on egg rings. Did the job though.

I didn't have one before, this is the first one that I have had since I joined, it's only taken me 6 years to do one! :o

It may change but I think it looks quite cute.

    :D
  • I'm not a lover of sesame seed buns, so I used Warburtons sliced sandwich rolls for the burgers. I warmed them on the George Foreman grill and they were lovely.
