By the way, I started to knead the mince in a bowl as it says in the book but then put it into a plastic food bag and started squeezing it in that.
You can get it a lot smoother that way and don't get your hands messy.0 -

We did ours in the old Kenwood Chef mixer, but you have to use the dough hook or you'll have a meat covered outfit a la Lady Gaga"We could say the government spends like drunken sailors, but that would be unfair to drunken sailors, because the sailors are spending their own money."

On lamb donner and freezing
I made the lamb meat up and formed sausage shapes.
These were frozen.
Took 40 mins in the oven, from frozen, to cook.
We also found the red sauce had too much mint, so have reduced it and added finely chopped chillies to taste.
The lamb kebabs are now a favourite in the house.0 -
I was browsing in my local library today looking for a book with Tagine Recipes and saw they had The Takeaway Secret book there - may be helpful to someone.0

Thanks it sounds like a good book. Hubby likes to cook curries and the like.
Might order it him for Xmas. We don't usually buy anything for our anniversary, but that is in October, so might get it for that.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670 -
Well the chicken doner kebabs are a success! (no piccies I'm afraid).
For the red kebab sauce I reduced the amount of mint sauce to half a teaspoon and it was about right.
Have ordered the value minced lamb on next weeks shopping0 -
I didn't know where to recommend this so I'm going to put it in here! Just bought a great book with nice easy recipes and lots of baking stuff in. Probably too simple for proper old stylers, but I think it would be a fab student book!
