I couldnt find onion POWDER or Garlic powder either! so used the granules! worked just fine! if you think they need to be finer then you could put them in a mortar and pestle and grind them a bit more. or what i do - put in a plastic bag and run rolling pin over them!
  • This book is seriously good
following recommendations i took the plunge and it arrived from amazon this week
i have so far made the veg pakoras and pakora sauce ..taste just like they came out of a kebab shop minus all the grease :j

Use something like www.photobucket.com it is free to register.

Upload your photo (there is a big green button 'Upload Images and Video') click that.

Click on the photo you want to put on here (from your pics folder on your pc), once uploaded a list will show on the left of it saying Share this image, double left click on the one that says Direct Link (it will automatically copy it for you).

When you type in your message here on the forum there is a little yellow box with a mountain and sun in it (on the line where the fonts etc are), click on that, it will bring up another box that says enter your url, just press Ctrl and V on your keyboard to paste your link into that then press Ok and it will then place your pic underneath your writing which will show on the forum.

    I hope this helps.

    ;)
  • Hoping mine will arrive today. We are away for the weekend so I won't be able to try any recipes until next week...
Think I'll try the lamb kebab first. :)

Nope, no photos, hence me asking if people can post their pics of finished meals, I like to see what they look like too! ;)

Is onion powder the same as onion salt?

I have found that but not powder.

You can mince or grate a small (peeled) onion, this should roughly equal a teaspoon and a half of onion powder. HTH :)

Or you can make your own onion powder.

Thanks but found some Onion Granules on the Tesco site and bought some Garlic Powder today in Lidl for about 70p.

    ;)
  • I haven't got the book yet (it's on my Christmas list!) but that is interesting if a lot of the recipes use garlic powder and onion powder. I use those (well, garlic powder & onion granules!) in most of my savoury cooking too! Everything from soups to mashed potato and also cheese biscuits! They work well to round out flavour. :)
