  • I've caved in and ordered my book from amazon, should be arriving tomorrow! My 3 DDs love KFC and the golden arches, although they are occasional treats, hopefully soon to be made even more occasional! I'm hoping the southern fried chicken is good, although there seem to be mixed views on here.

I'm so keen that even before the book has arrived I've bought garlic granules (58p from Morrisons) and onion granules (not such a bargain at 98p!)

    Thanks OP :j

Ok folks, I tried the Lamb Doner Kebab tonight and have had a request to def make it again. It was bloomin' lovely especially the crunchy bits around the edge of the meat. I also made the salad and the Red Kebab Sauce to go with it.

My husband thinks it maybe had a tad too much mint sauce in the Kebab Sauce so I will use 3/4 tsp instead of 1 tsp next time. It says add chili powder to taste so I used 1 tsp of the Schwartz Mild Chili Powder which seemed to be ok.

I used the Value Lamb Mince from Tesco as I thought it may be better to use a fattier mince rather than best quality, as with burgers so that they don't dry out. You can see in that second pic the fat that has come out at the top of the pic.

I would def rec this book if only for this recipe.

Saying that this is the first one that I have tried out of it so hopefully the others will be just as good.

Hope these are of use to those who haven't tried making this yet.

Thank you so much for that sb44, it looks absolutely delicious!!!

My book came on Thursday and my daughter has requested the chicken kebabs for tomorrow nights dinner (I've made a note about your OH's comment about the mince sauce so I'll add half a tspn, taste it and then add a bit more rather than add the full tspn)

I went in to my local WH Smith to order it as I had money to use up on a gift card (they don't seem to stock it instore) and it was out of stock online.

The only thing is if you order it instore you pay the publishers price ie I paid £5.99!

Oh well, I had a spare £10 on the gift card and didn't fancy any other books.

It was worth the money after cooking tha Lamb Doner a few posts above this.

    ;)
