its the dark gravy and it is absolutely gorgeous! btw I assumed the brown gravy powder was Bisto........and made it up according to the recipe! it isnt! mine was so thick at first I had to add nearly half a pint more water! and it went lumpy! second attempt - a quarter of the amount of Bisto (I bought a big pack and wasnt wasting it!) and it was much better! a little thicker than my local chinese takeaway bit still acceptable and very tasty!0 -
I think Ill have to try that some time this week then:D
I made the hinied BBQ wings last night for tea I couldnt find the tabasco in my cupboard and I didnt have dijon mustard so I used a pinch a cayenne and the yellow mustard instead:rotfl:they where really nice and sticky:D
I made the sauce to the recipe for 6 wings but I had enough for about 18 wings easily0 -
Morning all
I got the book for my birthday - yay!
I cooked up a big batch of the basic curry sauce yesterday afternoon, and was a bit surprised at how bland it tasted - but it all made sense when I used some to make the Korma recipe! I did make one mistake - when doubling the recipe, I forgot to add twice the amount of the sugar and coconut powder (the recipe asks for 3-4 tablespoons/6-8 when doubled, and I only put in 3) but when I tasted it I was so glad I had. I think the recipe would have been almost sickly sweet if I'd put 8tbsp in! I would definitely advise people to add slowly and taste it as you go, rather than adding it all in one go
Tonight it's doner kebabs, and I'm hungry just thinking about it... Mmmmmmmm kebaaaab....Paying off CC in 2011 £2100/£1692

I marinated it this am with left over chicken from Sunday's roast, made it with some salad in a pitta with the white kabob sauce....heaven on a plate! THIS RECIPE IS A KEEPER!!!!0
