Having a go at the KFC at the moment-sealed it in the fryer, and bunged the chicken in the oven for 40 minutes-Be interesting to see what it turns out like.0

Forgot to post last night, the donner kebab was sooo easy to make which was great for me as I'm no Delia !! We scoffed the lot and thought it was fab, the meat was so tasty. Looking forward to trying something else and for anyone not quite sure about buying the book, honestly from what I've seen you can't go wrong!ITV Winners Club #87 :eek:0

You're all terrible - I've just had to order this book after reading the thread, but I did use a gift voucher from surveys to buy it with :T
I suspect I will not be able to afford takeways from now on (not that I have had many lately - but I do love them) So hipefully this will fill the gap. I let you know how I get on0 -
I had to buy this book after reading this thread! It arrived yesterday and I have spent alot of today reading through it. I really don't like donner meat but the kids do so will give that a go (won't make my own pittas though) and I am looking forward to making the megaburger and sauce. The sausage patties also sound nice - has anyone made them?Jane

The KFC turned out ok,not quite the same, as didnt follow the recipe to the letter with regards to chilling the coated chicken pieces for an hour or two,but apart from that once you buy the spices,(we got most of ours in jars for about 70p each) the recipes are not far off the originals,6 kebabs and 6 pieces of chicken for a total of a fiver this week and the book has paid for itself already after the initial outlay of spices. Apparently I am doing the chicken burger next so I have reliably been informed by the 14 year old grumpy daughter-Just got to find what page that is on now--ahh page 21.:rotfl:0

I have decided not to make my own pitta's next time though as they're too time consuming. It took an hour and a half to create it all from scratch and at that rate I'd rather go to the kebab shop!
Which page was this on? I can't find it for looking
Thanks!Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re probably right ~ Henry Ford0 -
I couldn't find it either, there's a chicken shashlik kebab on page 32 or chicken doner kebab on page 30 but no chicken shish?Dum Spiro Spero0

Lots of times now, I made them in bulk and we just take 3 out as we need them.
Some people halve the amount of sage as it is a bit strong so you may want to think about that when you try them.
I make the mixture up and use the amount for two patties to form an escalope shaped pattie that we have with veg, makes a nice change from chicken etc.0 -
Finally broke my New Years resolution of not buying any books and purchased a copy of Amazon.August wins: BBQ, Solar Garden Lights, Seeds0
