I got this book around October time but didn't actually get round to using it until now!

Yesterday I made the banana muffins and they are YUMMY... Also made the doner kebab and popped it into the fridge for tonight. Cut it up tonight and served in a pitta with salad and wedges on the side. I made both the red and white kebab sauces too and I must say the whole thing was delicious. So so tasty and MUCH better than a takeaway because I know exactly what went in there.

We had the Mega burgers tonight, very tasty although not quite the exact taste of a Big Mac but very close. Hubby gave it 9/10 while the donner kebab was 10/10.

Not read the recipe yet but I know that for a real Mac you have to have the BM sauce, finely chopped onion, pickle (2 slices) lettuce, cheese, burger.

Oh I too got the book with a survey reward voucher. Not used it yet but hopefully it will be good. Bit burger heavy for me I prefer an more asian food slant, but we will try some of them.

I make a very heavy on the onions, french onion soup but blend it rather than leave it as is. It works as well as curry/sauce base. I usually cook it in a huge pot in the oven (onions and butter/oil) then ad stock and blend. SAves faffing around on the stove top. Not tried it in a slow cooker yet.
    Put the kettle on. ;)

There is a recipe for the sauce in the book, think that is what doesn't taste quite right, was still really nice and very close to the real thing.
  • We shall have to experiment in the kitchen see what we can acheive. :)

I don't eat McDonalds too often but I used to a few years back... IMHO the sauce is spot on... would be interesting for someone to do a side by side blind taste test.
