Made the Chinese Gravy the other night - it's hidden away under the Griddled Sirloin Steak (pg 76) - should have a section of its own it was fab. :T

Went down a treat with my chips and rice. :rotfl:

Just made a batch of the choc chip cookies for the first time - mmmmm!

Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.

Re Chinese curry sauce - I actually bought the dry mix from Chinese deli. It is very cheap to buy, makes about 2 litres for under £2, and is the one the chinese takeaways use. I don't like it very much, as MissJenniPenni says, all spice, and not taste - OH & DD like it. It only seems to come together when you dip meat or fish in it & then its quite a subtle taste, not overpowering the food you have dipped in it.

I made the garlic chilli chicken tikka last night. It was lots of faff and needed lots of spices but was very tasty and worth the effort. Was deffo the most authentic curry I've made. I now have enough of the basic curry sauce and tikka marinade in the freezer to make it 3 more times so will be much less faff next time!!!
