  • Wow that arcticle said it reached number 3 in the Amazon books best sellers chart (above Nigella!) and has only slipped down the chart as they've now sold out!
    Well done Kenny!

This quote kind of misses the point:

Xanthe Clay, The Daily Telegraph's food columnist, said: "I find it utterly surreal that people want to recreate the taste of junk food restaurants in their own home. It is just extraordinary. It is the complete antitheses of what Jamie and Nigella have been telling us in recent years about using fresh, quality ingredients. But maybe that's why it has done so well.

    1. A lot of people like fast food as a treat now and again and 2. by making it ourselves we can control what goes into it (i.e. still fresh ingredients) and control fat / sugar / salt etc as a result.

I thought the exactly same & I don't like the headline, but I guess any publicity is good publicity

I bought the book for the Doner recipe (worth every penny for that alone :)) & I like knowing exactly what's gone into it & having nice fresh salad instead of stuff that's been lying around for ages getting limp & losing its vitamins

everyone I've served it to has said it's better than any they've had from a takeaway or restuarant, well done Kenny :T
  • I really want this book!! I've placed orders with both amazon and whsmith only to get an email days later saying they're OOS :(. Great news for kenny, bad news for me! Does anyone know where I could get one in time for Xmas? Also would anyone be kind enough to pm me the s&e mcmuffin recipe pretty pleas? Desperately want to make these for my OH tomorrow but I will still be hunting high and low trying to find the book. Thanks in advance, I would be so grateful! Happy cooking all xx

I registered just so I could leave a comment on the article pretty much saying the same thing. Kenny has been an inspiration in this house. Before his book I'd never even eaten a kebab. Although my family loved them they rarely had them and when they did I was always there talking about eyes, lips and bums :rotfl:. It's not my favourite from the book but it sure is theirs, so much so that I have 4 ready cooked kebab loaves in my freezer.
"Who’s that tripping over my bridge?" roared the Troll.
"Oh, it’s only me, the littlest Billy-goat Gruff and I’m going off to the hills to make myself fat"

It mentions Greggs in that article.

Which recipe in the book is supposed to be similar to a Greggs product?
  • Hi guys, made the Chicken Korma tonight and it was nice.

I messed up on a few bits which I am sure I can correct for next time but would definitely recommend it to anyone.
