nothing worked for me, I had to be induced with both of mine, one was 15 days late, the other 11 days late.

Don't take castor oil it's dangerous.

emsy when you said "boys bits have gone" I thought you had had your cat castrated or something:rotfl:

LOL I thought Emsy meant she had been for another scan and they got it wrong it was actually a girl! :o:D

For the ladies suffering with sciatica, it is rubbish and painful but as soon as bubs was born mine disappeared, funnily enough it did come back a few weeks before I fell pregnant but so far I am ok as long as I am not standing for too long.

Ema I feel the same, everyone coming on here so far is further on than me, think I will be stuck near the bottom for a while. C'mon ladies from the 12 week thread get your butts over here!!:D

On a serious note, I am getting worried about my lack of feelings for bubs, I just can't get excited at all is this normal when you've been pregnant before? Maybe I will feel differently when he/she starts to make her presence known? I hope so :(

Good luck with the sweep Emsy.

Hope little legs turns for you LL.

Nice to see you back Fuzz!

Re the sweep, am I likely to bleed much after? Do I need to take sanitary towels? Will I be ok to drive? Sorry for stupid Q's, but I have no idea :o:o

You'll be fine to drive, my m/w made me lie on a towel, but it was at home (joys of a homebirth) I didn't bleed but you maybe should take towels. Seriously if offered one I would accept like a shot (not at 19 weeks, obv!)
Hmmmmmm we are now looking for a chocolate lab so that hubby can call him 'coke' due to you kind ladies putting that name into his mind :P

    Coke, liking that.
She did wear gloves:rotfl: I don't know how her boss didn't tell her to cut them, a lot of things were uncomfortable with her even just getting the bump measured. I'll have to keep an eye out for her this time around, I'd guess she was in her late 50's 3 years ago so may have retired.

I was once visited by a m/w student who stank so badly of smoke, when she picked up my babe I told her to put her right back down again, then I asked the main m.w not to bring her again, as she stank so bad:eek: apparently she was very upset, she should try having a bath!

eta teenied its totally normal, I haven't bought a thing for baby.

  • If you've still got over 3 weeks to go til your due date, I wouldn't start trying to spped things up just yet. If baby's not ready to make an early appearance, don't push it. Easier said than done, but enjoy some time to yourself and give yourself a pamper!

Whilst sex is often recommended as a method of inducing labour it should not be used when the waters have broken as there is a risk of infection, the OP says she has had some leaks so would not risk it.

Yes, this. Generally babies come on their birthday. Try and keep active and spend time on your hands and knees to get baby in a good position. However, make sure you gets lots of rest too! Lie on your left hand side and don't slouch on sofas etc.

    Good luck!

If you're not due until 12th November, then chances are you've still got AGES to go! (sorry)

On *average* they're born at 40 weeks, with only about 5% turning up on the due date, and the rest some time in the two weeks before or after. Emphasis on the after for first babies!

I'm due in 4 days and getting VERY impatient now, but having tried pineapple, sex, raspberry leaf tea, hot curry etc... I'm just trying to chill out and let the little one come out in his own time!

Besides, have you seen the weather out there?? It's cold, wet and miserable, so no wonder the little blighter wants to stay in the warm!

Tempting fate is the best way to get the baby out. Go and do activities where it would be REALLY inconvenient if your waters broke!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • And 'term' is classed as anything between 37 and 42 weeks..
