  • In a nutshell RLT makes the pushing stage of labour faster as it helps the uterus to contract better.

Faster than 4 min which is my record?!!

Obviously I want the best for baby, but do you have to pay £150? The midwife tells me how she had someone recently who couldn't afford a cot, so were having the baby in a box for a while and that it's perfectly fine. I've heard of relatives sleeping in drawers as a baby...

So I guess my question is, what do these top of the range mattresses offer over a lower quality foam mattress for £30? My budget was going to be £100.

DD2 had cheapest from mothercare. Did not wear at all in the time she used it. I think its important that its a new one (SIDS) and that it fits the cot properly.

I have no idea how long in minutes either of my pushing stages were, but DD1 took 3 pushes... DD2 I didn't so much push... More my body expelled her... At great speed...

:o We've decided to blow our budget on the pushchair. But otherwise I like to be as MSE as possible. As for M&P - in my defence it's the only shop near me that actually stocks stuff to touch and feel. Our mothercare is quite frankly pants (mainly just clothes)

We are going over our budget on the pram but in the deal we get the adaptors for the car and the car seat as well so I am quite happy with it....we're getting it in mothercare but have to drive about half an hour to that one as the one closest to us is pants as well....the M&P near us is even worse than the closest mothercare too lol.....and we hadn't even thought of toysrus so thank you for that one Giz :)

Could you not order it online and have it delivered to your nearest store RBG?

I wanted to try out the pram first and that thought hadn't crossed my mind until the girl in the store we went to in the end suggested, lol...normally I would think of these things but my brain is so scrambled atm I am such a ditz, lol...have done instore collection for some other stuff I have ordered from them though and can get them at the closest one to us coz I will probably be back at work when the stuff arrives, lol

I'm being very mse and using our pram from my last baby. It sthe slightly older version of this except mine didn't come with the carrycot, so i've bought one of those, although got it off ebay for less than half the price and its new.
If i had extra money i would love to upgrade to the new funkier style of my pushchair which is this one but i have all the accessories for mine now.
I love my pushchair and even though it was used for my baby and a friend of mines-you wouldn't know. Its worn really well and is still in fab condition...can't wait to use it again :)

My hubby is doing my head in!!!! I went in to do the dinner nearly 2 hours ago to be told to go sit down because I wasn't well and he would make the dinner and look after me.....all well and good and I put my feet up again. I am still waiting for my frickin dinner!!!! I could eat a horse and now I am getting a hard time because I am snacking but if I don't snack and get something in me I will be sick and I will then not feel like having a dinner and he then has the cheek to tell me I am being grumpy and this pregnancy isn't suiting me at all and he wants his happy wife back...I want to cry!!!!!!

Once again, the thread has moved on quickly without me:)

I had to take one of the dogs to the vet today - he's lost a lot of weight recently which is a worry, he's quite old and has underlying health issues - they took some blood for tests so we'll just have to wait and see, fingers crossed it's not expensive:(

On a brighter note, my wall stickers arrived for the nursery today - they are fab - I am so glad I went for them. Now I can't wait to get them up:)

Welcome to the new baby, but can you all please slow down a bit, I am now very definitely on the top half of the list and getting closer to the top all the time:D

I got a Kit for Kids cot mattress from TK Maxx. It was sprung with a water resistant cover and looks and feels great. It was £39.99. They had cot bed mattresses too.

I spent £28 (inc delivery) on DDs cot mattress from here I found them to be very good. Hope that helps someone! :D

I have been signed off for another 4 weeks, and Dr agreed I would probably be unable to return to work before Mat leave. Yay!
