still no call to be admitted, what should i do?? if i dont hear from them by 8pm assume there are no beds and leave it til the morning? or phone up at 7.45pm and be a pain in !!!, make a fuss and insist on going in first thing in the morning?

Hubby thinks i should make a fuss, but i think they cant help it if its full and the duty midwife wasnt very nice on the phone i dont want to annoy her any more!!

Impatience would want me to ring, but you'd be better off waiting till the morning and getting a good nights sleep. If you go in tonight they'll put the pessary in tonight and you won't get a wink of sleep with mild contractions all night, and they'll put the drip in mid morning and start you properly when your shattered.

GEMS - I can completely understand how you feel, but I agree with pc, when I had ds, they gave me pessary and then had to stop doing anything else to move me along as I was way down the importance list, and so I made the decision to go home and just as pc said I had contractions every 10mins all through the night and I got hardly any sleep and was shattered when they started the drip at 3pm the next day, I was just pooped! I agree get a good night sleep tonight, you might not get another full nights sleep for a while.

    Welcome bella.

I'm just reading and running really as I need to sleep, early night for me!

Gems I totally agree with princess coupon. If you go in tonight you wil get no sleep at all.
I'd go for a nice relaxing bath then an early night then call them in the morning.
I know your dying to get things going but trust me you'll appreciate that sleep.
With my first my waters broke at 1am, I'd had 2 hrs sleep. Dd was born at 9.30am. It was days and days before I managed to get more than 2 hrs sleep at a time.
Big ((hugs)) to you and hopefully tomorrow will be the day you get your mummy cuddles.

Just spoke to a lovely duty midwife who had just started her shift - she said go to bed now and she will phone early hours (5am ish i think) if there is a bed. She said the way things are at the moment if a bed becomes available i need to get in otherwise i could be waiting days. If I dont hear from them im to ring back at 10am. So im off to bed. Night all, hopefully tomorrow will be the day.
