We're the same, mum and dad bought the pram and it is at their house, fortunately my parents only live 5 doors away:D0 -
Don't say that about the pram in the house being bad luck! Ours is coming next Friday and I've got nowhere else to keep it!Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0

Would the shop you bought it from not keep it or you until nearer your date? The shop we originally went too, said they keep the pram until a few weeks before the due date0 -
I dont think so. It's Mothercare online and everything is coming this FridayMetranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0

Gems - Good luck for tomorrow. Hopefully you'll get your mummy cuddles soon. Big ((hugs)) to you.
MV - it's just superstition, having a pram in the house won't change anythingI've walked under ladders, broken mirrors, opened umbrellas indoors, put shoes on the table and all sorts. Don't think anything bad has happened...
Thanks for the weight reassurance everyone.Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
Oh and congrats to Sharkeybabe on a pink baby!!
And Make it 3 - not quite 24 weeks yet, but no, so far I'm not finding things anywhere near as stressful or worrying as the first 12 weeks.Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
Thanks Giz. I'd never even heard of that superstition before, neither had OH, or OH's mum and dad who are staying with us this weekend (and his mum is into all her hocus-pocus stuff!)Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0

Thanks for all the good luck wishes and reassurance!! Im feeling ok about it all, had some tears earlier on the phone to my mum, i cant do with her fussing and going in to all the details and telling me what i should and shouldnt be doing. With things like this i just need hubby, he is the only one who knows how to stop me panicing and distract me.
Its difficult coz i know my mum wants to be there for the birth, or at least around to help in the hospital in case she is needed. But i just want it to be hubby, so we planned on phoning when it was over and baby was here, but now im being induced im not sure i will be able to keep her away. I feel really nasty not wanting to include her.... but have told her not to come to the hospital with us and hubby will phone when things get going.:)Baby No.1 due 27/9/10

@Gems - I totally get you with you just wanting hubby there. I'm the same. I'm only 22+4 at the moment but we've already had this discussion...OH thinks my mum will be in the waiting room! There's no way she is coming to the hospital until baby is out! I hate the thought of knowing anyone might be waiting. It'll be stressful enough as it is.
Mums have to let go of their daughters! I hope I remember this if I have a girlI think my mum already thinks it weird that OH will be there even if things get complicated. She had forceps and in her day my dad was sent out of the room. She was shocked that OHs can sit in on a csection!
Been looking at thenappysite.co.uk (thanks to who posted that). I'm now wondering if maybe I should get a whole range of different nappies rather than 20 of the same?Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
MV - bumps pram is in the kids bedroom, they are sleeping of i would of sneaked in and too a picture.
Gems - I only had my OH with me. My mum thought that weird as my dad just left her too it each time and she phoned in the morning to tell him what they had had (he had went home to his mum). Very weird. With DD1 i was very ill but was ok to start with so OH did the calls. My parents come up for evening visits but I heamorraged so they smuggled her into the recovery room where i was on heart monitors tubes in my arms etc and my mum pushed DD1 crib out the way to get to me. I gave her a right tounge lashing.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000
