Me too gems honestly, induction is not so bad.Has anyone had an experience of a Doula? A local girl has offered her services for free as she needs a few more clients/ case studies to complete her qualification. I just need to be happy to fill out paperwork and speak to her mentor.
Ive never thought of one before but my oh lives and works 4 hrs drive away, so I dong think he'll make it time for the birth.
I'm meeting her in a couple of weeks.
If you like her and she seems sensible, why not? Doulas in general are a great idea.BargainPrincess wrote: »Hi Ladies and Bumps,
I try and read most of the posts where possible but don't have time to post much as so busy.
Could someone please put me on the boards as due 15/01/11.
Been cautious about putting anything up as it took us a while to get here and felt very scared it would actually happen.
But it would be nice to have some support and everyone seems so friendly on here.
Thanks
Wlecome Princess and congrats.
Giz it used to be that if you were overweight, then it was 1 stone overall, if you were "average" then 2 stone overall and if you were underweight then 3 stone overall.
Not sure if that's out of date now, but I haven't gained any weight so far and don't intend to, as I am properly overweight. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Nic- i met a couple at real nappy events, personally they are not for me, seem very fixed on one goal and unwilling to consider an alternative may be more suitable for the mother but go meet her, see what you think, IMO a doula should be there for support and to ensure YOUR opinions and WANTS are listened to not hers.
Giz 13lb sounds about fine, i'm actually lighter due to no steroids which is confusing alot of people. If you eat reasonably healthy then no matter the number you will be fine.
Gems - don't worry about induction, it really isn't that bad, so much so I plan to ask for one this time.
On the subject of change bags I love lin & leo bags.

So can I justify the radley bag because this is my first and we want 2 kids?I don't want to pay more than £50 as that's what the M&P one cost. I might see if mum and dad might get me one for Christmas as there really isn't anything I want this year.
I would most definitely say so!! I should have thought along those lines 9 years ago!DD1 - May 02 8lbs 6oz

Giz - apparently the NHS don't see it as good practice or of medical merit to weight you throughout pregnancy. There are a few online pregnancy weight calculators if you want to check how you are doing but don't read too much into them.
I'm jealous of all you ladies out shopping. We have to put things like this on hold as OH got his redundancy confirmed on Friday, so we'll have zero income if he doesn't find another job soon.
I know lots of ladies here felt very anxious about their pregnancies at the very beginning (hence the <12 week thread) but has anyone else felt more anxious after reaching 24 weeks? I just worry about LO coming out too soon and fighting for life in an incubator. Particularly when it get a kick in the cervix which sends weird spasms through me and feels like its gonna put a foot through the floor! We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -

2GFM for the people you want to quote, click the button with the red and orange balloon in. A tick will appear. When you're ready, click "post reply" job done. You can only multi-quote a max of three though. xPlease do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0

They tried to make me get on scales in the corridor. My response was "no chance matey" I told them what I weigh, if they don't trust me to tell them the truth, I don't trust them to tell me the truth!

Hugs, I'm not shopping either, but that must be horrible for you.
