Sounds like a horrid day, BUT wow what a geat scan pic:j Was that a private 4D one? I'm umming and aahing as to whether to have one or not. I'm now 29+5 but I don't want to know the flavour. Do you know if they can do it so I don't find out but still get some good pics?
This isn't very MSE but I'd say do it. Don't worry about the flavour, we didn't want to know either and still don't. It was the first thing that we told her and about half way through I asked OH if he was tempted and the monographer said even if you say yes I'm not telling you because you didn't want to know :rotfl:

morning all
just for anyone having had baby since july or having it before october totbots are giving away a free resuable newborn sized nappy you need to join their group on facebook and then email them proof of birth once baby is here - details all on facebook.
not sleeping great at the moment with going to the loo every 1-2hrs and seem to get left hip and leg pain at night (used to right hip pain!!) its a bit like growing pains when a teenager but worse and very annoying, paracetamol does nothing.
off to marks and spencer today we got £30 worth vouchers from our credit cards - we use them for everything and pay off every week online and also use bonus point vouchers where possible so tend to get £20-£40 a quarter - got a 10% off food voucher too so will do some food shopping with them as we like the pork from marks as its outdoor bred - we buy whats on offer in there as often cheaper or similar prices to asda/sainsburys.0 -
Morning all. Haven’t posted for a few days (but I’m always lurking), so time for a little catch up...
Congratulations Xmas, she’s beautiful
Good luck today delain
Labour vibes to kitkat, MLSL, nene and anyone else who wants/needs them
Welcome to sharkey

Hugs and good wishes to anyone else who wants them.
There, hope I haven’t missed anyone
I hit the 30 week mark yesterday. Strange to think I’m now ¾ of the way there. And have known I was pregnant for 6 months – blimey that has flown past!
Still waiting for my HIP grant to come through so very jealous of those who have had theirs:( I phoned on Monday as it was 4 weeks since I sent the form off and they said it wasn’t tied up with my NI number and was I sure I’d filled that in. Err, yes. Because a) I know my NI number off by heart and b) I distinctly remember double checking it with my payslip as it was on my desk when I was filling the form in. And anyway, wouldn’t it be a good idea to contact me if there was a problem rather than waiting for me to phone you? HMRC are bloomin’ useless! :mad:You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change.0 -
Morning all
OK, I've been getting a weird pain in my right hip/buttock for a few weeks now, it's getting worse, really hurt yesterday when I was sat cross legged and leant forwards. Could this be the start of SPD? I mentioned it to my midwife on Tuesday but she just looked at me blankly...
Good luck Delain! And labour vibes to MLSL, kitkat and neneMy debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

Good luck today delain:)
Hope the non queue jumpers get some labour pains soon;)
I just don't know what to doooooo:(
I'm in soooo much pain. Every little baby movement hurts LOTS and it looks like I have a wee/kidney infection AGAIN which is painful too. I don't know who to tell... not that it can be today as DS has to go hospital for an xray and check up (His arm better be mending ok!) If I can get through to Tuesday, when I have to go in for a scan and to discuss section, I can then beg them to do something BUT I don't know if I can last that long in this pain?
But if I really really can't cope do I phone labour ward or leave message with my midwife (messages left can take a day or 2 to be responded to)
I now have to get to DS's school as it's selling uniform for a few hours whilst it's opened for the 6th form students getting A level results. He needs EVERYTHING for when he goes back in Sept and I haven't been able to get anything!

Just got out the car at work and threw up on my shoes.
Having another 'can't keep anything down' day. SHould've listened to my instinct this morning and stayed at home. I just didn't want the grief againIf having different experiences, thoughts and ideas to you, or having an opinion that you don't understand, makes me a troll, then I am proud to be a 100% crying, talking, sleeping, walking, living Troll. :hello:0 -
Hope all goes well for you today Delain.
Labour vibes for Kitkat, Nene and MLSL
Fingers crossed for you Chakani
Giz - sounds good if you can get a free trial kit, we don't have any incentives for reusables here. I've found a trial hire kit online that I've booked as from what I've learnt doing research different nappies suit different size/shaped babies plus needs of parents differ. I'm trialling one or two types of bamboo nappy but I gather they take a lot longer to dry - maybe Krystal can confirm. I've also got a few terry squares and prefolds as they didn't cost much and can have other uses if I don't get on with them as nappies. I also got a tots bots fleece wrap from ebay - was lucky to win it for £2.04 including postage, and to trial for 2 weeks would cost £2 anyway!
As for wipes have a look on ebay there's loads of fleece wipes on there, also if you wanted you could buy a metre of fleece and cut up your own to make them even cheaper (and I think fleece doesn't fray so no need for hemming). I seem to remember a few months ago someone on here said they got fleece fabric from poundland - I've not found any in ours but it might not hurt to look.
I had a lovely afternoon yesterday at my friend's and got to hold her little girl who is 6lb 3 at about 11 weeks. She's gorgeous and so small! The funny thing was when dad curled her into a little ball and held her up to my belly as mine is probably a very similar size!
I'm 37 weeks today so technically full term now which is nice, but he can stay put for now, I'm not ready for him yet.:D
Must get on, have to get dressed and go to tesco for milk as my parents are coming for lunch, then I have midwife this afternoon and I think she's taking more blood as my iron was a little low on the last lot. Maybe I should have steak and spinach for lunch!! I'm feeling tired today though and would much rather have a lazy pj morning. Never mind, off I go!
(See Rach - not just you who does long posts!:p)0 -
Tigtag - think you're right. I'm on a massive 'get out of debt before baby arrives' challenge with myself at the moment, but I don't intend to have another baby so I may treat my chap to it as he's in Afghan and not due back until a week before the birth. Think it would be nice to surprise him with the dvd - helps him feel included too0

Gena, Idon't know if it's specifically bamboo that takes longer to dry, it depends on the shape of the nappy and the number of layers...
And to be honest I'm naughty and stick everything in the tumble drier so it all takes the same amount of time lol...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
