Part 5 General information
Has a Sure Start Maternity Grant from the
Social Fund already been paid to either you or
someone else for this baby or babies?
Are you or your partner already getting
Child Benefit?
I get the first part, clearly a no, but does the second part mean are you getting CB for any child? Or this one?
I didn't understand this bit either - I just wrote a note in the section at the end saying I was claiming CB for my two children but not the one I was pg with - I ticked I was already getting it.
They never queried it and I got the money :j0 -
Hi all!
Labour vibes to all who want them or need them!
Lilian - that's exactly how mine started. Pain at the back of my pelvis just to the side of my tail bone. eventually it made its way round to the front. The front is now worse than the back but at night (when I've been managing to sleep!) I'm stuck in one position and it hurts all the way round when I try and move. Have now been given a support belt (which is a bit uncomfortable when sitting down) and crutches which have helped when walking. Will keep my fingers crossed for you that maybe its a trapped nerve and will go away!
KK - don't let anyone get to you (says she who burst into tears thinking her DH thought she was huge!). Baby will come soon!
Smartie -that sounds painful. I think I would phone the labour ward. And i saw your bump pic last night - you look lovely and neat!0 -
Hmmmmn you've got me worried now ladies. I've had pain for weeks in my back - if I had to guess and I wasn't pregnant I would say it felt like sciatica (not that I've ever had it but from what people who do suffer have told me it sounds like that kind of pain) but I have just put it down to being pregnant. At night, it's a lot worse and when lying in bed it's near impossible to be comfy even with body pillows. I wake every night in pain around the front of my pelvis and moving position doesn't shift it. It's worse if I've managed to roll over onto my back.
OH has pumped my ball up for me to try to ease it as I just assumed it was down to being sat on a hard chair all day (I work from home most days). Could this be something I need to get checked out? I'm nearly 35 weeks so hardly seems worth bothering now.
On a TMI note- we had a go at perineal massage last night as supposedly it helps with the stretching especially for first babies. OH did it for me  it was a bit weird and stung a bit but I'm willing to try it if it stops me tearingBellymonkey due 25/09/10 :j0 -
Thanks everyone:o
I really can't do much about seeing anyone/phoning labour ward today because of DS having hospital in a mo.
Didn't make it to his school to get uniform so I've still got that to fit in at some point... as well as getting him a bag, coat etc etc.
Wanted to go see chinese man about moxibustion thingy today but that's not going to happen either cos I'm not up to it ANDDDD it's been raining and supposed to P it down and DS can't get his cast wet and his coat isn't big enough to cover it up.
Oh:o:o:o:o I really must stop moaning:rotfl:
Hopefully DS's appointment wont take long (yeah right *rolls eyes*) and we can stop off somewhere on way home and I can buy myself a mag and choccies or something:)BLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120 -
BB - please don't be worried. i didn't mean to scare anyone. This is just my own personal experience. I thought it was sciatica as I have had it in the past but the pain wasn't shooting down my leg. I ignored it until I got to about 27 weeks (am 33 now) when it was getting hard to sleep cos every time I moved it hurt. I would mention it to the doctor or midwife if the pain is really bad. The other reason would be if it is the ligaments SPD or similar then it can have an impact on delivery positions etc - depends on how far apart you can move your knees. I was advised to consider all fours or a water birth and to make sure the midwife knew so they could be careful when helping me.
I'm sorry if I worried anyone!0 -
Thanks Neph
just feel like such a big fat emotional wreck. Already cried twice today, and near enough every day since last Friday. Think if I'm ever pregnant again I'm guna tell people my due date is the 42 week date to stop people hassling me.
Smartie moan away! It helps me just to vent sometimes.
Xmas if your lurking at all would you say the vitamins/ supplements you took helped with labour in any way? I'm taking rlt, epo, calcium and arnica but as this will be my 1st I have nothing to compare to.
Budget: I read about perennial massage, but when I read the details decided against it! You/ your OH are brave! Lol0 -

Thanks going this afternoon at 3.40 xIf you can think it........it will happen0 -
KK - I like that idea. I've been very vague to work about my due date (for other reasons - don't want certain people visiting me in the hospital! Long story!) but no doubt will get the same comments when its my turn. An crying is good for you - releases pent up emotions! If you kept them bottled up then you would be even worse off. Well, so i tell DH when I can't explain why I'm crying over nothing!0
