HIPG has come through:j:j:j:j I know what I'm gonna spend my last 40mins looking at............travel systems:T:T:T
Yay :D And that's another thing that's doing my head in - prams/pushchairs/travel systems! I don't know what I need!!

I thought I'd decided on a fixed car seat (so negates the need of a travel system) because I have a 3 door car and I thought getting a car seat out the back would be harder than just baby. But a friend thinks otherwise...

I agree with said friend:o I'm going for travel system as well as fixed car seat for the bigger car(DH's) travel system carrier will be used in my little 3 door Corsa so if I do inadvertently bash bubbas head on the door frame at least it'll hit the carseat first(and yes this is VERY likely to happen:o:o) the fixed carseat will be in hubbys car as his is used for longer journeys so if baby is in there for more than the recommended 2hours he should be ok:D just need to make sure travel system can be used as a lie-flat from birth so when we are out in DHs car there's no need to faff too much with car-seats IYSWIM:) Mothercare have a helpful question thingy fo rwhat type of pushchair you should go for depending on circumstances LINKY

giz - go onto thenappylady and use their nappy advice service, they ask a few questions and give you some ideas. Worth a try of you haven't already and you don't have to buy from them!

I have also found www.naturalmamas.co.uk has some great advice on their chat nappy board and in their FSOT (for sale or trade) board there are some great bargains. I have bought a few different bits for next to nothing so I can try them out.
Thanks I've filled that in and requested if there is a demonstration in my local area.

yeah I agree with fuzz, if there is banging about to be doing its best little un is in the car seat.

I once tried to use the trolleys in the supermarket where you can put the babies car seat in the handy carrier on top and still have room for your shopping - I advise anyone who is also only 5 foot 2 not to bother and leave the car seat in the car and use the trollies with laying down seats because I couldn't see where I was going at all. It was quite comical.

I used terry squares with DD1, they're totally doable... I used to get sick of folding them though and just used to do a pad like a prefold inside the wrap lol...

This time around I am loving all in ones... I have some great itti bittis that you snap the insides into and they're all colour coded so even hubby can't get it wrong... I don't know how good they'd be for newborn poopsplosions though...

My council trial pack was a bit pants to be honest... I can't use 3 of the nappies out of it because they're poor quality...

    what's up tig tag?

i was advised by road safety lady at work to get an infant carrier (was going to go straight onto Britax first class) as they offer more protection when they are small. Not sure how right she is, but am borrowing the work infant carrier to see us through at least the first few weeks, in laws will buy car seat after that they have said

Yeah the all in ones have the wrap attached but you can get some like Modern Baby Pop Ins and Itti Bitti snap ins where the insides popper in and out to make washing and drying easier...
