I've got to go to Poole tomorrow and wait for an induction (not sure why, mind, both the doctors I saw yesterday said section) and be admitted.I'm off to the hospital lol I will be back with baby news as soon as I have any :rotfl:freebiequennie wrote: »hello all
had a lovely friend come to visit this morning she stayed almost 3hrs which was nice to see her and catch up.
got my mamu pack through post and it had some natrucare sanitary towel and breast pad sample, some ginger sweets samples, soap nuts for washing, a variety of different sachets of creams for mum and baby, travel pack of ecowipes, some leaflets, trial size pack of some cereal, an e-cleaning microfibre cloth thing. I think it was worth the £2.50 postage I paid and was interesting to see what came in it - all comes packed in a nice hessian style reusuable bag as well.
Hope sir m is getting on ok
hngrymummy- does sound annoying with the person at work. I'm v careful who i give my personal mob to at work. I do tend to take calls as much as I can on working from home days as I am always worried they'll think I'm not working otherwise!
smartie- would love to think s/he would move but doesn't seem likely!
Well got handover done this morning, a few actions came from it and I need to expand a few of the notes but feels good to have had the meeting.
Also been to physio, which was really helpful. I def have SPD, though not as severe as some people get it. She gave me a support belt which really helps but is too uncomfy to sit down in, so I guess I can only really wear it if walking a bit. Also gave me some helpful exercises and tips. The good news is that I can still open my legs reasonably well so hopefully it will stay that way.
Although I have to say I am so petrified about the birth bit that I wouldn't say no to a planned section. I know that it's not the easy option etc though. My mum had one with me, my sister ended up with an emergency as did a few friends. So few people I know have had straightforward natural births...sil's last one got stuck and they had to get loads of midwives in to manipulate her pelvis. Mind he was 10lb5oz!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
Smartie...LOVELY BUMP:j at least DevilChild hasn't made you go fat all over:D:DShe confirmed that there's one pool and if it's in use that is that. I don't know what to do. I guess I have lots of time to think about it. OH and I are going to do the hospital tour in the next couple of weeks as I feel that will help sway me one way or the other.
My hospital only has the one pool too which is a bummer BUT it is worth finding out on average how often a week/month it gets used, I've been told that although there's only 1 I have a 90% chance of it being free as it tends to get used maybe a few times a month:) also best have a word with the consultant when you go for your appointment as he may be able to give you more info specifically for you:)
I only have about 70 nappies in newborn size 1 the rest are size 3's as looking at the packs the sizes tend to overlap and if I don't have enough......DH knows where the shop is:D But this is based on me having a 6lb'er as both me & DH were around this weight:cool:1.11.09 - debt = £45k:eek:

I've bought one small pack of newborn ones about 27 in the pack, that I'll take into hospital and when I get home I'll start striaght with the number 2 ones. DD was big enough to have started with number 3 ones but she got through some 1 and 2s first. Mine are likely to be big so you might want a few more 1s than me.0

you naughty queue-jumpers you! My due date today and no sign (unless Munchkin pushing down REALLY hard on my pelvis is a sign). Done a trial run with the birth pool (nowt like being organised :rotfl:) and DS has now climbed into it to read his book (without water of course!)
Sending lots of love your way ladies, I know you'd rather not queue jump :grouphug:Updating soon...0 -

sir m - you posted in the time I was typing my long post (my posts are always long, don't know why! maybe I'm not a very concise person!). That's the day i finish work, fingers crossed all will be well til then as it sounds like the perfect timing for you.
giz - nappies, i have 2 packs huggies newborns and 1 pack pampers size 2s. All with vouchers! I also have one more voucher for £2 off pampers so will prob buy size 2s with that. I am hoping to get onto reusables pretty quickly once I am home, all being well, but will just send DH to the shop if we need them..although we are still boycotting sainsburys, don't think M&S do nappies!!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -

Yay for 20week scan date:j and must be a relief that your consultants appoinment is just down to the Fentons Procedure(I googled it:o):)

@fuzz - I should know you'd google! I have vaginismus and the fentons procedure was something I had done a few years ago, but didn't work (//edit - actually I think it did work, but it wasn't the only issue) as I don't think that was actually the issue...oh well. At least I know the healing process for if I tear!Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
Thanks everyone. I'll get the free pack and leave it at that then. I would like to use reusable nappies but after doing my research I'm no closer to making a decision on what nappy, so I found that Surrey have a scheme where you can test out a trial kit that has different types/shapes etc in it so I hope to be able to get hold of that when baby is born and it'll help me make a decision. Otherwise I'm just going to say sod it go with 20 terry's squares. I can't deal with all this decision making!

I thought it was you with vaginismus:o Just didn't wanna say anything incase you didn't want it broadcasting:) There's someone else as well isn't there?? Are they still ttcing?? *shruggy smiley*
I'm also the same about the nappies..I keep looking and the more I look the more confused I get! I'm going to get approx 10 terries flat sheets and then I've narrowed it down to Bambinex/bumgenis/Totsbots as these seem the best and from what I can work out wraps all tend to be the same? But the major ruling factor is what i can get off ebay for a decent price:D I've ruled out the Bambino Mios(there's too many on ebay which to me says they're carp!:p)1.11.09 - debt = £45k:eek:

giz - go onto thenappylady and use their nappy advice service, they ask a few questions and give you some ideas. Worth a try of you haven't already and you don't have to buy from them!
I have also found www.naturalmamas.co.uk has some great advice on their chat nappy board and in their FSOT (for sale or trade) board there are some great bargains. I have bought a few different bits for next to nothing so I can try them out.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
