Budget that sounds horrible, and i thought my 18 wk appointment was bad!! At the end of the day you want a professional with that much influence over what happens to you to come across as a professional that knows what they are doing!! The MW i saw at 18 weeks asked me if she was measuring me properly and was shakey and uncertain when she went to take my blood - didnt do it properly and i felt like a pin cushion by the end of the appointment, almost passed out and ended up in the blood clinic - she was so nervous!!
I dont know whats going on with me again today- im craving Red wine - i havent been missing alcohol at all but now cant wait for a glass of red wine..... does anyone know if its ok to have a small amounts of alcohol when you are breast feeding?
Thanks, it was fine she was just a bit new and nervous but it would be nice to feel like you're in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing! Because I'm horrible needle phobic my mw gets really nervous about taking bloods and as well I'm Rh neg so have to have anti d injections. She always really hurts me by being too hesitant and last time I had about 4 holes in each arm and had blood running down my arm by the time she'd finished. Oh, and it wasn't "like" a free Ikea tape measure - it WAS one! Apparently they're short of equipment which is always nice to know when you put yours and your unborn child's life in their hands!
Yes, 1-2 units once or twice a week is fine although I have totally gone off wine. Bellymonkey definitely gets that from daddy! :rotfl:Bellymonkey due 25/09/10 :j0 -
See how you are delain, how managable it is etc before writing off the move. It is easier to be near people willing to help out though. I used to live in plymouth and OH family blamed me for us moving up here and created alot of friction for a long time even though it was him that wanted to move now he wants to go back I'm cautious. I think he has visions of his mum babysitting every weekend, erm I think she has a life too, I'm also concerned about finding work and the schools. The kids are really settled with their schools here so we will see. Gonna stay here at least whilst I'm off on maternity.
gems I'm not sure about breastfeeding but if I was really craving it I'd have like half a glass with dinner, red wine isn't all bad.
edit to add: not every night lol just like once a week or something0 -
Thanks ladies, i think i may have a half a glass later if i still fancy it... it always seems to be at lunchtime that i want it - so weird as i've hardly had any cravings.
Budget - i have had to have a few other blood tests since as i have a blood condition where my blood is more likely to clot... and i insist on going to the blood clinic, i wont let midwife do it. The blood clinic know what they are doing and their confidence puts me at ease.:)Baby No.1 due 27/9/10

I'm hoping that the doctor was right and that the movement in my right ankle and foot will come backquite quickly after little monster is born, the numbness on the left and the tingle doesn't make any difference really, at least I could carry on with my driving lessons which is a no-no when you can't move your right foot at all
plus I really dont want to be shuffling on crutches for weeks, I'd like to get out and about with all 4 monsters
and apparently it'll be 4 weeks till my neurologist appointment, as long as my condition is stable or improving so 4 weeks before any meds they think I might need.
Hasn't there been a lot of queue jumping this month :rotfl: I remember when we had a huge bold list lolMum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Gems, you can drink alcohol whilst breastfeeding... The best way is to feed the baby and then have a glass of wine so it has chance to work through your system before the baby is ready for another feed... It takes about 1 hour for a unit of alcohol to work its way out of your systemA very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
