Gems - sounds like something is slowly starting, though I guess it could still be ages! It will be interesting to see what advice I am given compared to yours (which if I remember was that you'd be induced at some point?), though my situation is slightly different due to previous history as well as current SPD. I am going in basically requesting a c section.

It will be interesting to see if our advice is similar, although your problems are more complex than mine. My consultant said to have sweep at 40 weeks and i will only be allowed to go overdue to 41 weeks then i will be induced. Though there was still talk of possible C-Section if bubs is huge, and my pelvis has been worse in the last week.
Although my midwife couldnt book in for a sweep until im 40+2 so thats the 29th.... I just sooooooooooooooooooooo want it to come before the 29th naturally:( and then if i have to have a C-section fair enough, im very nervous of being induced as i really want a water birth and have heard that inductions can be complicated.

Only had it when I've had too much to eat or if I'm a bit, ummm, bunged up:o

Dont think thats the problem, but my stomach was upset in the night, so it could of all been a bit tense due to that. It seems to have eased now and bubs has had a good move around so hopefully all is well.:)
I just feel so worried all the time, ive been suprising relaxed for me - im a nightmare worrier - but in the last few days ive started thinking ive come so far and its all going to wrong at the last minute.

  • Welcome to the world baby Milo - what a lovely name :)

Can I just ask, everyone that's past 28 weeks, where did you have your bloods taken? When I first saw my midwife she said I would be at the hospital for that appointment, but when I went for my 20 week scan the midwife there said she wouldn't be seeing me until my 32 week placenta check. Only just realised the discrepancy over the weekend!
    My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

Total £4151.44 | £2900.30 of £7051.74 paid off since diary started October 2024.

I had bloods taken at booking in appt with midwife, then at 28 weeks (this was done at the hospital as I had my glucose tolerance test the same day - if I hadn't been having a GTT then my midwife would have done them) and then finally at 34 weeks by my midwife.

Bloods seem to vary depending on where you live. I had the first lot done at the hospital when I went for my 12 week scan. Then the midwife did the next lot at 28 weeks.

I went to the phlebotomy dept as they had put a blood form in my folder...but I apparently did it wrong and should've gone at a particular day and time to ante natal where they do them all together (I did see this in my notes later to be fair). They still took them though. I think comm mws here will only do them if they can guarantee to get them back to the hosp in time.

MW just phoned, she thinks I am doing the right thing and gave me some pointers about chatting with the consultant.

plumber is now here to fix our leaky radiator, I could do without it really but better now than when baby here! I am going to rewrite my notes for speaking to drs this aft too.

moneysaver - i was thinking it was likely to be on set days here too, though c section rate is high (30% midwife told me early on in pg) so it may be more I guess. Will see I suppose!
