Just realised i'm 9th on the list - how did that happen?! And I may be queuejumping a bit!

When you say measured the base do you mean the base of the cot or the base of any matress that your parents kept??

The base of where the mattress goes i.e the springs/frame where the mattress would sit on top?

Anyway not to confuse you but out cotbeds are 140 x 70 matressed but the actual cot bed base is 144 x 77

yea so i reckon 120x 50cm would be ok?

Congrats budget he is absolutely gorge!!

im still here contractions have slowed down to every 10mins which is carp but they are getting stronger which is a good sign i suppose. went to hospital earlier because im nosey and wanted to know if id dilated at all. i was a big fat ZERO cm dilated lol! and the internal was so sore - midwife said it was only sore because my cervix was so far back. so dont think il let them do that again for a while!!

poor you dream, at least you've been checked though! I am wondering if they will check me tomorrow, am prepared now that it might not be pleasant (well, was never gonna be pleasant but you know what I mean!). Fingers crossed your contractions come back soon, in the meantime get some good sleep!!

I feel wired and wide awake, though I think I should go to bed and read at least. DH is home and was shattered so has gone to bed, fair enough, he has to work tomorrow!

Rach - the normal internals never really hurt me - like when they checked me on sat to see if my waters were intact that was mostly just uncomfortable, i suppose it was like what a smear is like. but getting checked to see if your dilated is completelty different as they use their fingers instead of a speculum. midwife said they dont like doing it too much as it carries risk of infection etc so theyll only check if your dilated if they really need to. i hope i didnt put you off by saying it was sore!!

lol, no didn't put me off, I just wondered if they'd want to check me for any signs of labour. I've been having the period type pains for a few days but still unsure if they are just SPD related or what!

Got up to the loo about an hour ago, then have been lying in bed hungry ever since, decided eventually to get up for some cereal...hopefully will get back to sleep now - usually works!

At home with a poorly DD today, a little cold thing she came home with from school has manifested into Gawd knows what overnight, but it's not nice!!

So just chilling today in jammies for both of us.
