Welcome to the thread Karen - congrats on your 5th child! Do you know if you're having a boy or a girl?
Lilian - my deliveries always end up coming later - I'm def one of the unlucky ones!!!
I had my NT results back yesterday and the risk is 1:2000 which it says is low but doesn't seem that low!! Anyway, I'm not going to worry about it.
Went to Boots yesterday to pick up my Bounty pack - DH had a mini freak out at the sample newborn nappy. Lol.
Hope everyone has a good day - looking quite sunny here. Best go walk my doggie
Hiya, I having a Girl, well at least thats what they said. I have still got all my sons baby stuff in the loft just incase lol.
I have 2 girls and 2 boys already.Mum of 5 lovely chidren.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Has he not got 10p for a phone box Merfe?
My Dad is a long distance lorry driver, he used to take us with him for days out during the summer holidays... One time he couldn't get unloaded on time and I ended up on a night out with him... I thought it was fantastic!
Morning Karen, congratulations on Number 5... I'm on number 3... But I think we're going to leave it at that lol!
Gems, try not to fret too much about how big you're measuring... I had all that stress with my first, they were telling me she was going to be massive... She was 8lb 15 in the end, which is large, but still normal, and nowhere near the 10lb they were telling me...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Welcome Karen.
((hugs)) rach.
I had my 20 week scan yesterday and all is well. It feels very surreal seeing baby on the screen. I feel like I can relax a bit more now as I was a little worried about the history of my brother who died at a couple of days old. But there's no obvious abnormalities from the scan so that's good.
We are officially team yellow as we didn't cave in and ask the sex
I was meant to be buying the winnie the pooh cotbed after the scan but now it's gone from £180 to £250
Will keep an eye on it and see if it goes down again.
I got sent a £5 gift card from Mamas and Papas in the post, in addition to one I'd already got by email. So I was able to use them together to get £10 off in store yesterday
Got a bath support with it. Also caved in and bought the Tommy Tippee manual breast pump as it was the cheapest I've seen so far £12ish in Tesco (plus OH gets 10% off). I was going to wait till after baby was born, but I'm fed up of missing out on offers. Already regret not buying a winnie changing mat I saw in TKMaxx ages ago...not seen it since
We're off to a second hand baby shop and an NCT sale today.
We're also on holiday for 2 weeks
Got loads of DIY to do, including decorating the nursery
Can't wait.
When did you start decorating the nursery? We're painting it and putting up shelves this week. But is it too early to go full on and stick our winnie wall stickers up?Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
We haven't started the nursery yet. It's still our spare room, and we have friends staying tonight, and OH's parents staying 1st weekend in Oct.
After that though it will be out of action, and we plan to get cracking on it by Nov.
I've decided we should keep it neutral and 'kiddie' it up with toys etc as the plan for us will be to move at some point.Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Was the winnie the poo cot bed you mentioned the one in Mothercare, Giz?Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0

Sorry about the cot bed Giz
Glad everything was good with the scan though - we're half way now! Have you had a look at the furniture bundles in Argos? I'm getting this one delivered on Wednesday: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3772830/Trail/searchtext%3ESALISBURY.htm - with the extra £50 off code I got emailed it's such a bargain.
I've put together a schedule for the nursery preparations as it's currently our spare room and we use our loft bedroom as a junk room, that'll have to become the spare room now:
Sun 10th October - empty out nursery into loft/charity shop/bin
Sat 16th/Sun 17th October - paint nursery, change curtains
Sun 24th October - put up furniture in nursery
Sun 31st October - sort out loft room into storage/charity shop/bin/back into nursery
Sat 6th/Sun 7th November - paint loft room
Sun 14th November - tidy loft room
I didn't really want to take up full weekends with it all, and this way we can still open the windows to air the rooms before it becomes the depth of winter!
xx

Hi Karen congratulations

Well i am totally mortified!:o TMI alert -
Just back from the hospital as i thought my waters broke - but they didnt!
about 2ish hours ago i stood up and felt a big gush knickers + pad were soaked! but nothing else came out after. so phoned admissions who said to call in and be checked. they examined me and apparently waters are still intact. so i think that means i either wet myself or had a almighty gush of discharge. am a bit worried because i really dont think i wet myself and cant see how that much discharge would come out? also a bit petrified as midwife said bubs is laying back to back which ive been told is meant to mean a horrible birth :eek:0 -
Hi all, just lurking, not really meant to be on here...got too much to do today:o
Karen welcome and congrats....make sure you get added to the EDD list next time it's updated hun:)
Dream back to back? Eek!.....apparently spending as much time on all fours as you can will help move baby into a better position apparently! Hope bubs moves for you! and don't worry about the waters/discharge things.....I'm guessing they get it a lot:) Plus how on earth are you likely to know what it is if you haven't had kids before eh?? Now get down on your hands and knees Missy....I got a kitchen floor that needs cleaning if you fancy it?!?!:p:rotfl:1.11.09 - debt = £45k:eek:

lol fuzz i will certainly try the on all fours thing!! but dont tell my OH he will think its his lucky day!
i suppose they do get people in all the time who mistakenly think their waters have went, does not make it any less embarassing! and i forgot they had to do an internal to check the midwife was not one bit gentle :eek:0 -
Thanks, I will add it to my birth plan and will phone MW today too.lilian1977 wrote: »Rach - it sounds like a good idea to speak to your MW today if you can. Perhaps in the meantime you could add something to your birth plan explaining the situation so you don't have to try and explain it if you do go into labour?
Awake early today too as waiting for the 7am-3pm delivery slot Argos have given me! Is it just me or do they NEVER deliver at 7am, yet I can't risk staying in bed just in case?!
We've had the exact same thing, think we're at the start of their route too! quite handy although v early on a saturday!Krystaltips wrote: »I've had them deliver just after 7am Lilian, but worse than that... The driver rang me at 6:45 to tell me he was on his way
I hope you manage to talk to someone Rach
My friend told me that this exact same thing happened to her. She was in the shower, baby must've bashed into her bladder and made her wet herself..she went to the hospital to be told the same as you.dreambirdie wrote: »Hi Karen congratulations
