  • tickle - i shall be using some of those replies :rotfl:

Rach - i shouldnt think there would be any probs booking you in for a planned section if they agree to let you have one. they do emergency ones all the time so they are bound to be able to fit you in for a planned one.

i agree its bloody ridiculous that you cant get a midwife appointment at this stage. its the same at my surgery. my last three appointments have been with the doctor as theres no midwife at present. although he is able to do everything a midwife can, check urine, blood pressure, bubs heartbeat etc. i phoned the hosp about this as i was really peed off and they said because im a low risk straight forward pregnancy seeing the doctor is fine. as yours may be a bit more complicated due to SDP/hip issues maybe you could see if hospital can fit you in for the remainder of your appointments?

Rach - it sounds like a good idea to speak to your MW today if you can. Perhaps in the meantime you could add something to your birth plan explaining the situation so you don't have to try and explain it if you do go into labour?

Awake early today too as waiting for the 7am-3pm delivery slot Argos have given me! Is it just me or do they NEVER deliver at 7am, yet I can't risk staying in bed just in case?!
  • I've had them deliver just after 7am Lilian, but worse than that... The driver rang me at 6:45 to tell me he was on his way

I hope you manage to talk to someone Rach :)

Oh wow - I think you might be the only person to have ever said that ;) x
  • I think I must live near the depot or something lol...

It did annoy me though, I wasn't expecting him early so I was only planning on getting up at 7... He woke me up early!

lilian I've had them come at 7 before as well but I know I'm near the depot because OH has driven for them before on agency doing the odd saturday around christmas. The drivers can start at 5am ish so to get to the first drop for 7am.

OH is still at work not sure if he is working today or just driving back from night out and he has no credit so won't be able to text or ring when he has a break grrr.

Gems, what's the reason for being induced at 41 weeks? You don't have to if you would rather avoid being induced...

Krystal, reason for being induced at 41 weeks is that im suffering with severe SPD and baby is measuring big, saw a consultant last week and he wanted to keep it as natural as possible but had some concerns over whether my pelvis would cope with a 10lbish baby! not that i know it will be that size, but it was measuring 7lb 2+ weeks ago.
I really want a natural birth if possible and a water birth. But my pelvis has been even worse the last 2 days. :(

    Good Morning ladies,

Welcome to the thread Karen - congrats on your 5th child! Do you know if you're having a boy or a girl?

Lilian - my deliveries always end up coming later - I'm def one of the unlucky ones!!!

I had my NT results back yesterday and the risk is 1:2000 which it says is low but doesn't seem that low!! Anyway, I'm not going to worry about it.

Went to Boots yesterday to pick up my Bounty pack - DH had a mini freak out at the sample newborn nappy. Lol.

Hope everyone has a good day - looking quite sunny here. Best go walk my doggie :)

I shouldn't be here as I'm not pregnant, but just happened to see this and wanted to say that I was told that I could have a water birth with induction if they only use the pessary (which they will try first) and it was only a no if you have to have the drip (or any other risk factors, like meconium in the waters which is why I couldn't have one). I know a few people who were induced and still had water births. HTH.

    Thanks thats really helpful:)
